This set of funding is specifically for residents age 62 and older, veterans and/or special needs applicants
Palm Beach County Department of Housing and Economic Development hereby announces the availability of approximately $2,300,000 in the State Housing Initiatives Partnership (SHIP) Emergency Repairs Program. Funding will provide up to $75,000 to assist low income eligible owner-occupied residences to address emergency conditions such as roofing, electrical, plumbing, hurricane hardening (impact windows, doors, etc.) and structural repairs for residents age 62 and older, veterans and/or special needs applicants. The property’s appraised value cannot exceed $434,000. If there is prior existing unpermitted work on the property, the property may be ineligible to receive assistance.
Eligible applicants may visit the website at https://pbc.gov/HED to complete the pre-application to enter the random lottery selection process for 30 applications. The online pre-application portal opens on Monday, June 8, 2026, at 8:00 am, and closes on Friday, June 26, 2026, at 11:59pm. Additional program information and required documents needed are also located on the website. All financial assistance will be in the form of a deferred loan secured by a recorded Mortgage, Promissory Note, and Declaration of Restrictions. NOTE: SHIP funding cannot be used to repair mobile homes.
