🟢 Preparedness

Preparing individuals, families, businesses, and communities before disasters happen through planning, training, exercises, public education, and emergency notifications.
🟠 Response
Coordinating emergency services and resources during disasters to protect lives, property, and critical infrastructure. This includes supporting first responders, sharing timely public information, and activating the Emergency Operations Center (EOC) when needed.
🔵 Recovery
Helping communities recover after disasters by coordinating damage assessments, connecting residents with available resources, supporting debris removal efforts, and working with local, state, and federal partners to restore essential services.
🟣 Mitigation
Reducing future disaster risks through projects and planning that make our communities more resilient, such as strengthening infrastructure, improving drainage systems, promoting flood protection, and encouraging safer building practices.

Palm Beach County Residents be aware of a heat advisory today. The US National Weather Service Miami Florida sent out another Heat Advisory in effect for all of South Florida. Heat index values of 105-110℉ expected between Noon to 7 PM today. Major Heat Risk is forecast for portions of South Florida today. This level of Heat Risk affects anyone without proper cooling or hydration. Therefore, continual hydration and cooling breaks are advised for anyone who is expecting to endure an extended period of time outdoors. Stay hydrated and stay cool.

Palm Beach County Residents be aware of a heat advisory today. The US National Weather Service Miami Florida sent out Heat Advisory in effect for the Miami-Dade, Broward, Palm Beach, and Collier Counties. Heat index values up to 110℉ expected between 11 AM and 6 PM today. Major Heat Risk is forecast across most of the region today. This level of Heat Risk affects anyone without cooling/hydration as well as health systems and industries. Stay hydrated and stay cool.

🐶 Pet Preparedness Matters

Your pets are family, and they need a plan too. Don't wait until a storm is approaching to prepare for their safety.

Before severe weather arrives:
🐾 Pack a pet emergency kit with food, water, medications, bowls, waste bags, and comfort items.
🦴 Make sure your pet wears a collar with up-to-date ID tags and consider having them microchipped.
📋 Keep copies of vaccination records and medical information in a waterproof container.
🐕 Have a leash, carrier, or crate ready for each pet.
🏨 Know where you'll go if you need to evacuate, and identify pet-friendly shelters or lodging ahead of time.

Remember: If it's not safe for you, it's not safe for your pets. Never leave them behind during an evacuation.

Preparing now helps ensure every member of your family—two-legged and four-legged—is ready when severe weather threatens.
