From Sunday service… to hay storage… to a new home in Yesteryear Village. ⛪

The Red Level Baptist Church was originally built in 1893 on Florida’s Gulf Coast for just $1,000. In its early days, it served as more than a place of worship, it was where communities gathered, voted, and connected.

After years of use, the building was relocated and repurposed for hay storage on a ranch, until it was discovered and saved by a South Florida Fair Board Member. 🙌

Today, it stands once again as a place of history and storytelling right here in West Palm Beach. Open to the public on Thursdays & Fridays, come see it for yourself!

Before a day on the water began, it often started with a stop like this. 🎣

Our Bait & Tackle Shop at Yesteryear Village offers a glimpse into that experience: simple, local, and part of everyday life in early Florida.

If you haven’t stepped inside yet, it’s worth a visit during your next trip to the Village!

Not to mention the no A/C! 😩

All jokes aside, it’s the kind of experience that makes history click in a whole new way, especially for students seeing it up close for the first time.

Teachers, bring your class. Students, come see if you’d survive the day. 👀

Rich in history… and even richer in heart 🤍

Our Village wouldn’t be what it is without the volunteers who bring it to life day after day, story after story. From school tours and special events to welcoming visitors with a smile, they give so much of their time and care throughout the year, and it shows in every corner of Yesteryear Village.

We loved celebrating them at our Living History Park Volunteer Thank You Luncheon. 🌿
