Live From The Fields: Salinas Fall Lettuce Challenges - Markon Cooperative BB #:123315 released a "Live from the Fields" video on October 19, showing the damage and significant yield loss in Salinas Valley lettuce crops caused by soil disease and plant virus issues. Crop News - California lettuce quality problems, unfortunately, worsen, causing lettuce supply challenges and shortages. The issues are expected to continue through the end of the season in the Salinas Valley until the seasonal shift to growing areas in the desert areas of California and Arizona in mid-November.

Iceberg and romaine shipments remain extremely limited due to erratic weather patterns of extreme heat followed by rain, which adversely affect quality.

Good morning! We hope you all are well and healthy! Several people have been asking about our pre-made bags and if we were still providing them. When we first began this program, the circumstances around the coronavirus were quite different, and things continue to change almost daily. In light of our community's recent events and the uncertainties and effects of the virus on our business partners, we have decided to suspend this service for the remainder of July to allow us to reevaluate and to see how the county's re-opening process is going to play out. Thank you all for your support and let's see how things progress over the next few weeks.
