Fushimi Inari ⛩️ I remember we rushed over after arriving in Kyoto after a 9 hour poorly planned train ride from the Mount Fuji area (a wild story for another day) and decided to make the most of the day before sunset. I had been eyeing Fushimi Inari as one of the spiritual shrines that I wanted to visit while in Kyoto. The train drops you off practically at the door step of the shrine and you start the 2.5 miles trek up to the top of the mountain where you can overlook the city of Kyoto! The gates are orange and there are over 10,000 lines up along the walking path and in the evening a beautiful red cast with distinct shadows could be seen throughout.
This is my first post of my ten day countdown to the end of 2025. This year has brought me an abundance of travel, delicious meals, and incredible shared experiences with those I love most, and even some on solo travel adventures. It’s finally time to share a bit of what I’ve been up to!
