09/07/2026 - Structure Fire Fatality
On 9/07/2026 at 0553 hours Concord, West McCracken and Kevil Fire Departments were dispatched to a residence on Jacobs Lane for a reported residential structure fire.
Concord units arrived on scene to a single story single family home with smoke showing. Mercy Regional EMS was on scene prior to fire units arrival and advised they attempted to make contact with any occupant’s at both entrance doors with no answer. The Mercy Regional Captain on scene advised he was familiar with the home and believed it to be occupied. Paducah Fire Department was requested to the scene at that time for additional manpower.
Concord Firefighters made entry into the back door of the home and located a victim within the residence and rapidly removed them to an awaiting stretcher outside where Mercy Regional EMS assumed patient care and ultimately determined the victim to be deceased.
Paducah Fire Engine Company 3 made entry into the residence and extinguished the fire, conducted a further search for occupants and removed a pet that had perished as well.
While this incident resulted in a terrible tragedy we are forever thankful for our partners at West McCracken Fire Department, Paducah Fire Department, and Kevil Fire Department for without hesitation responding and assisting in any and every way they can.
