We are constantly working to expand the county’s Democratic tent to make sure we are truly reflective of the values of our Party, and we remain committed to making sure every county Democrat has a seat at the table. This new caucus position will be an important voice in our continuing fight on behalf of county families against the oppressive policies and general chaos emanating from the White House and MAGA Republicans.”

Wow! I am so honored by the overwhelming win in last night’s primary for Essex County Commissioner. I knew I had a lot of support, but it is humbling to be the top candidate by so many votes! Last night’s posted election totals show my campaign winning the most votes in almost every community, including Newark, Montclair, Bloomfield, and of course my wonderful home town of Verona.

This win is because of a philosophy not just of campaigning, but of governing. I truly believe that the people know what their communities need from government, and I am committed to being the candidate and the Commissioner who listens to them and fights to deliver effective, communicative, and transparent government for them.

I want to thank all of you for your support during this campaign. This was truly an amazing team win, and that starts with the grassroots volunteers who donated a few dollars, canvassed their neighborhoods, phone banked and texted, and held meet and greets in their living rooms. It’s the local and Essex County Democratic leaders who encouraged me to run and introduced me to their communities. It’s the endorsements and support of , the , labor organizations, and of course New Jersey Governor . It’s all of us together working towards the same goal.

I look forward to the fall campaign and to running for the Essex County Board of Commissioners with Adbur Yasin, Wayne Richardson, and Deb Engel and the entire team of Wilson Pichardo, A’Dorian Murray-Thomas, Medinah Muhammad, Lenny Luciano, and Carlos Pomares. I also want to thank Shawn Klein and Marques-Aquil Lewis for their great and hard-fought campaigns.

Thank you all, and I look forward to connecting with even more voters over the next few months before the November 3rd election.
