Port Sheldon Fire Department The Port Sheldon Fire Department is a paid-on-call unit dedicated to promoting and protecting the safety and welfare of our community.

The department consists of 17 paid-on-call firefighters and 5 officers, and 911 dispatching is based from the Ottawa County Dispatch office. The Township also has a mutual aid agreement to provide or receive assistance from surrounding communities when needed. http://greatlakesbuoys.org/station_page.php?station=45029

The Port Sheldon Fire Department will be hosting Fire Prevention Night this year on Monday, October 6th. The fire station will be open from 6-8pm. Pizza, pop, water and ice cream will be provided! Stop by the fire station on Port Sheldon Street, east of the township hall and check out the fire trucks, gear, displays and get some cool stuff for the kids. We hope to see you there!

Summerfest weekend continues on Saturday, June 7 with our annual picnic at the township hall, from 11am to 2pm! Join us for some great food and great neighbors!

One of the questions we ask during a smoke detector install is: Do you sleep with your bedroom doors open or closed? Everyone that says "Open" has their reasons.
