🐱 Wish List Wednesday: A Specific Need for Our Cats 🐱

This week, we're asking for help with something that may not look exciting at first glance, but plays an important role in keeping our cats healthy and our shelter running smoothly.

We are in need of 30-50 acrylic kennel display plaques for our cat adoption kennels.

These plaques allow us to clearly display information about each cat while also making daily cleaning and disinfecting easier. Unlike paper signs or other hanging displays that can become damaged or difficult to sanitize, these acrylic holders help us maintain a clean, healthy environment and reduce the risk of disease transmission between kennels.

Every cat deserves a safe, clean space while they wait for a forever home, and these display plaques are a small but important part of making that happen.

We have added the plaques to our Amazon Wish List and would be incredibly grateful for any support. Our goal is to have enough for every cat kennel, which means we need approximately 30-50 plaques.

It's not the most glamorous item on our wish list, but it is one that will benefit hundreds of cats who pass through our shelter doors each year. ❤️

🎉 Another amazing week at Harbor Humane! 🎉

Last week, 35 cats and 12 dogs found their forever homes! 🏡❤️ We also helped 7 cats return to their families and reunited 2 dogs with their owners. Nothing makes us happier than seeing animals where they belong—whether that's in a new home or back in the arms of the people who love them.

As summer heats up, so does shelter season! While we're celebrating these happy endings, we still have many animals counting on us. Right now, we have 140 cats and kittens and 23 dogs and puppies in foster care, with more needing help each and every day.

Don’t forget: our Pet PJ Party is coming up next Friday, June 5th from 5:30–9:00pm, and we can’t wait for the coziest night of the month!

Kids ages 5-14 are invited to wear their favorite PJs and join us at Harbor Humane for an evening of pizza and snacks, an animal-themed movie and plenty of time with our adorable shelter animals. It’s the perfect kids’ night out and a great chance for parents to enjoy an evening, too! 💜

Just bring a sleeping bag and pillow, and we'll take care of the rest.

☁️ TAKE ME HOME TUESDAY ☁️

Meet Nimbus.

And before you ask...

No, he is not a tiny storm cloud.

Though we admit the resemblance is uncanny. 🖤🐰

Nimbus came to Harbor Humane as a stray, and while we don't know much about his past, we do know one thing: this adorable little bunny deserves a future filled with love, cozy naps, fresh veggies, and a home to call his own.

Just look at him.

Those ears.
That adorable little nose.
That fluffy black coat.

Honestly, if someone told us a piece of a rain cloud floated down from the sky and turned into a bunny, we'd probably believe them.

Unfortunately, shelter life isn't where Nimbus belongs. Bunnies thrive in loving homes where they can stretch their legs, explore their surroundings, and become cherished members of the family.

So this Take Me Home Tuesday, we're hoping someone out there is looking for a little extra fluff in their life.

A little extra cuteness.
A little extra hopping.
A little extra joy.

Nimbus is ready.

Now he just needs someone to give him a chance.

🐓 PET PICK MONDAY: RUBICANTE 🐓

For the love of all things feathered...

Please adopt this rooster.

Meet Rubicante. A rooster. An actual rooster. Living at Harbor Humane.

Now, we love all animals. Dogs? Absolutely. Cats? Of course. Rabbits? Bring them on.

Roosters?

Well...let's just say Rubicante would really prefer a coop, or a yard, over a kennel.

Rubicante is everything you would expect a rooster to be. He struts around like he owns the place, keeps a watchful eye on his surroundings, and carries himself with the confidence of someone who has never once doubted a decision he's made.

He is looking for a home where he can do important rooster business: patrol the yard, supervise your daily activities, announce the start of each day, and generally remind everyone that he is the most magnificent bird in the neighborhood.

The shelter is simply not where this guy belongs. He deserves a flock, a farm, a backyard, or a kingdom of his own.

So today, we're asking for your help.
