Our Little Free Library at Action Cove just got a glow-up! 📚✨

Thanks to Sue Kunkel, one of our wonderful volunteers from the Friends of the West Newbury Library, the library has been freshened up and is ready for another season of sharing stories with the community.

Whether you’re dropping off a favorite book, picking up something new, or introducing a young reader to the joy of books, we hope you’ll stop by and take a look!

As advocates for the G.A.R. Memorial Library, The Friends of the West Newbury Library encourage Friends and neighbors to attend the upcoming Town Meeting in order to discuss the proposed budget cuts to the library. Through our bi-annual book sale and other Friends events, we have seen first hand how deeply the library is valued in our community. These proposed budget cuts, if enacted, could have a lasting impact on the library for years to come.

Attached is the official statement from the Board of Library Trustees outlining the situation, its potential impact, and the Board’s proposed path forward. If you are able, please consider attending Town Meeting on Monday, April 27 in the Town Annex. Additional details, including the meeting agenda, are available via the Town website.

Join us for a library-loving morning in West Newbury on Saturday, March 21! 📚
From 9:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m., the Friends of the West Newbury Library will be collecting book donations for our semi-annual book sale across the street from the library at Town Hall. If you have gently used books to share, we’d love to take them off your hands!
Then stop into the library from 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. for a Friends of the Library Meet-Up—a chance to connect with neighbors and celebrate our shared love of the library.
What’s happening at the Meet-Up:
☕ Coffee, tea, and light snacks
📚 A fun Yankee Book Swap (bring one wrapped book if you'd like to participate—no names on the package!) - begins at 11am
💬 Conversation and a chance to learn more about the Friends of the Library
