West Newbury Police Searching for Missing 85-Year-Old Male, Seeking Public Assistance

WEST NEWBURY — The West Newbury Police Department is seeking public assistance as they actively search for an 85-year-old male with dementia.

The male was last seen in the area of his residence on Old Wharf Road at about 7:00 a.m. on Wednesday, June 3. He was wearing a black short-sleeve shirt, black shorts, and no shoes. Police have been made aware that the male has dementia.

Anyone who sees this male is urged to call 911.

The West Newbury community should expect a heavy police presence in the area of Old Wharf Road and Church Street, as additional mutual aid partners and resources respond to the area to assist with the search.

For the past several months, West Newbury native Timothy Friend has been working with Jonathan Tudor, a long-time West Newbury resident, to craft a short documentary featuring the stories and photos his father, George Tudor, a WWII veteran left behind.
George Tudor served in the Army, most notably in the 451st Bomb Group (H). As a pilot with this bomb group, he went on multiple runs. This short film features a story he wrote on his bomb run to Vienna, and the heroism he and his crew exhibited.
