August was another busy month for OPFD! 🚒

Our crews responded to 1,154 emergencies, including 131 fire calls, 586 medical emergencies and 102 rescues. Beyond emergency response, our team continued training, developing new recruits, installing smoke alarms and preparing for the future of the department.

From the station to the scene, every division plays a role in keeping Ouachita Parish prepared and protected.

Today, we remember.

We honor the 2,977 lives lost on September 11, 2001, including the 343 FDNY firefighters who made the ultimate sacrifice while answering the call.

Twenty-five years later, their courage, service and sacrifice are never forgotten.

OPFD joins fire departments and communities across our nation in remembering all those we lost and honoring the heroes who ran toward danger to help others.
