Water Sweep 2026 is almost here!🌊
Mayor Staci Albritton Mitchell is encouraging our community to roll up their sleeves and join Ouachita Green and Keep West Monroe Beautiful for the annual Ouachita Parish Water Sweep on Saturday, September 12, from 8–11 a.m.
Our waterways are an important part of what makes West Monroe such a special place to live, work and play. Water Sweep gives all of us an opportunity to be good stewards of these natural resources by removing litter and debris before it can continue downstream, while helping protect our local waterways, wetlands and wildlife.
West Monroe Water Sweep locations include:
• Black Bayou Canal — Meet at The Assembly, 102 Blanchard St.
• Highland Park Wetland Trails — Meet at the Otis Street parking lot, 316 Otis St.
• Lazarre Park Boat Dock — 703 S. Riverfront St.
• Restoration Park — Meet at the pavilion, 700 Downing Pines Rd.
Volunteers are encouraged to wear closed-toe shoes and bring a filled, refillable water bottle. Those bringing a boat or kayak should also come prepared with life vests.

Thank you to Ouachita Green and all of the volunteers and community partners who continue working to protect and preserve our waterways. We hope to see you next Saturday!
