Through Hunger Task Force’s Connecting Farms to Families program, The Neighbors' Place in Wausau received a $40,000 grant to purchase fresh, Wisconsin-grown produce and other nutritious foods for the families they serve.

Nearly 2,800 households visit The Neighbors’ Place each month and, thanks to this investment, every guest can leave with several fresh produce items like organic eggs, milk and butter, giving families the opportunity to choose healthy foods they may otherwise be unable to afford.

It’s the final Friday of September and we’re wrapping up Hydrite’s Month of Giving "Fridays on The Farm" with one last volunteer shift!

Thanks again to the amazing Hydrite employee volunteers for dedicating every Friday this month to helping us harvest and share healthy, culturally familiar food with our neighbors who need a little help right now.

Every summer Outpost Co-op hosts its "Think Outside the Lunchbox" fundraiser benefiting Hunger Task Force. This year, thanks to community generosity, it raised $19,113 to support the purchase of healthy and culturally familiar foods to feed the nearly 60,000 people we serve every month in Milwaukee County.

If you’ve visited the Hunger Task Force Mobile Market, you may recognize these two familiar faces. 💛 Meet Mary Beth McNichols and Gwynne Kennedy, our September Volunteer(s) of the Month!

Mary Beth and Gwynne are dedicated volunteers who consistently show up to welcome shoppers, lend a hand with groceries and help make each Mobile Market visit a positive experience.

“I really enjoy my time volunteering on the Mobile Market as it enables me to interact with clients and listen to what their needs are,” says Mary Beth.

Gwynne has seen firsthand how much the Mobile Market means to shoppers: “Shoppers tell us that the Mobile Market really makes a difference.”

Through Hunger Task Force’s Connecting Farms to Families program, The Community Table, Eau Claire received a $50,000 grant to purchase fresh, locally sourced proteins for the meals it serves.

The funding has helped bring Wisconsin cheese, eggs, pork, chicken and milk to the (community) table, making it possible for our partners in Eau Claire to provide a protein with every hot meal while serving about 150 people each day.

The Community Table is the only meal service center in Eau Claire, Wisconsin, that provides meals to anyone in need 365 days per year. Over the last month, we welcomed 25 volunteer groups into our warehouse to help us build a total of 10,160 CSFP boxes which contain cereal, milk, canned fruits and vegetables, healthy grains, protein and canned meat, fruit juice and a block of Wisconsin government cheese to help supplement the monthly food budgets of older adults!

Hunger Task Force distributes nearly 10,000 boxes every month to low-income, eligible older adults across Wisconsin. We couldn’t get all these boxes packed without the help of local volunteers. To learn more about volunteering, visit www.hungertaskforce.org/volunteer.

It’s perfect weather today for our partners from Hydrite to head back to the Hunger Task Force Farm today for our third “Fridays on The Farm” this September.

As part of Hydrite’s Month of Giving, employees have been rolling up their sleeves every Friday this month to harvest and wash fresh fruits and vegetables that will soon reach local families through Hunger Task Force’s network of food pantries and meal programs.

From corn and tomatoes to a variety of culturally familiar produce, the work happening at The Farm helps put fresh, healthy food on the tables of our Milwaukee neighbors. We’re grateful to the Hydrite team for bringing their energy, teamwork and commitment to the Farm all month long.

More than 80,000 free Stockboxes have been delivered to the doorsteps of eligible older adults in Milwaukee County through DoorDash!

This innovative program is a lifeline for many older adults managing mobility challenges, the rising costs of food, medicine and transportation and the recent changes to Milwaukee County Transit System routes.

"Sheraldine, a DoorDash driver, shared his appreciation for the opportunity to make deliveries for Hunger Task Force...He acknowledged that the DoorDash Stockbox program offers the opportunity for clients to receive food that they may not physically be able to go and get and allows drivers to serve others in need.
