This past Saturday, members from the department gathered to to pay honor to Commissioner Ed Steines. Tanker 4, which was recently delivered to Company 4, was dedicated to Commissioner Steines for his dedicated service to the Township of West Milford and to the Emergency Services.

We would like to thank everyone who attended the ceremony. Thank you to the Steines family and to Department Chaplain James Sodt for blessing Tanker 4 before it is put into service in the next coming days.

Member accomplishment spotlight!

We would like to recognize three of our members for their accomplishments the past week.

First, Probationary Firefighter Stefano officially shipped off to begin his basic training with the United States Marine Corps. Stefano joined the fire company in 2025 and his hard work and dedication to everything he does we have no doubts he will serve our country with pride and honor.
Second, we would like to congratulate Firefighter Mike Nowacki on his graduation from the Passaic County Police Academy. Officer Nowacki is joining the ranks of West Milford’s finest. Officer Nowacki is also a US Marine which with his work ethic, dedication, personality and passion for everything he does proves that he will do great protecting and serving with the West Milford Police Department.
Finally, we would like to congratulate Firefighter Tyler Barker on his graduation from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University receiving a bachelors in Aeronautical Science. We wish Tyler luck in the next steps in his career and if West Milford Fire Department ever purchases a fire suppression aircraft we will hopefully have a pilot!

Congratulations men, good luck and stay safe!
