Join us Saturday, October 3rd from 12 PM to 6 PM at the Eugene Woods Civic Center for the 2026 West Memphis Rhythm & Ribs BBQ Festival!

The Tennessee Department of Transportation (TDOT) and the Arkansas Department of Transportation (Ark. Dept. of Transportation ) will host a design public meeting for the future home of Kings’ Crossing on I-55 over the Mississippi River. Replacement Project.

September is West Memphis, take time to build an emergency kit so your household is ready when disaster strikes.

Start with these essentials:
• Water, one gallon per person per day for several days.
• Nonperishable food, enough for several days, and a manual can opener.
• Battery-powered or hand-crank radio and a NOAA Weather Radio.
• Flashlight, extra batteries and a whistle.
• First aid kit, medications and hygiene supplies.
• Cell phone chargers and a backup battery.
• Local maps, cash and copies of important documents.

Include supplies for your household’s needs:
• Infant formula, diapers and wipes.
• Pet food and extra water.
• Eyeglasses and contact lens supplies.
• Clothing, sturdy shoes and warm blankets.
• Books, games and activities for children.

Store items in airtight plastic bags, then pack everything in one or two easy-to-carry bins or duffel bags. Keep your kit somewhere everyone in your household knows to find it.

Start with what you have and add supplies over time. A little preparation today helps protect your family during an emergency.
