As part of Mayor McClendon’s Youth Summer Jobs Program, students participate in weekly leadership and life skills training designed to prepare them for success both in the workplace and in life. Each Friday, our youth take part in sessions focused on conflict resolution, communication skills, workplace safety, civic responsibility, financial literacy, business plan development, and other valuable topics.
Today, Mayor McClendon joined the students at one of West Memphis’ newest quality of life initiatives, Meadowbrook Golf Club, for a day of learning, leadership, and inspiration.

We would like to say a special thank you to our guest speakers, Deon Hopkins, Orlando Ingram, Brandon Franklin, Darrel Anthony, Ava Rogers, and Steve Jones for sharing their knowledge, experiences, and encouragement with our future leaders. Thank you to everyone who helped make today’s event a HUGE success. Together, we are helping develop the next generation of leaders right here in West Memphis.
