June 2026 Employee of the Month

Officer Jimerson is an outstanding officer, earning the respect of both staff and residents alike. He consistently demonstrates a strong work ethic, boasting the best attendance record on B-Shift. Always punctual, he often checks in to see if there’s anything else needed before his departure.

His eagerness to learn is commendable; he isn’t afraid to ask questions and frequently seeks guidance to ensure his assignments are executed correctly the first time.

As an excellent communicator, he collaborates effectively with the entire shift. Additionally, he exemplifies honesty, readily acknowledging his mistakes and accepting constructive criticism, demonstrating a commitment to personal growth.

Congratulations to Officer Jimerson on his nomination for Employee of the Month for June 2026.

East Central Arkansas Community Correction Center recently celebrated a GED Graduation Ceremony honoring residents who completed their GED while incarcerated and are still awaiting release. This accomplishment represents more than earning a diploma. It represents determination, growth, and a commitment to building a better future. Obtaining a GED helps remove barriers many individuals face when returning home and opens the door to new opportunities in employment, education, and personal success. ECC is proud of each graduate for putting in the hard work to invest in themselves and their future. Congratulations to all of our graduates on this major achievement.

Correctional Professionals Week continued at East Central Arkansas Community Correction with a special luncheon for staff. Former ECC Chaplain Bruce Evans joined us as our guest speaker and shared an encouraging message about the importance of “Workplace Family” and supporting one another through the challenges of the job. Staff enjoyed time together fellowshipping and sharing a delicious meal of chicken and spaghetti. Events like these remind us that the bonds built inside these walls often become more like family than coworkers. We appreciate every staff member who continues to show dedication, compassion, and teamwork each day.

Correctional Professionals Week continued at East Central Arkansas Community Correction yesterday with a Paint and Sip event full of laughter, food, and creativity. Staff enjoyed charcuterie boxes, pasta, and cheesecake while spending time together outside of the daily routine. As the paint started flowing, we quickly learned who had hidden artistic talent, who could not sit still long enough to finish a painting, and who spent more time critiquing everyone else’s masterpiece than working on their own. Some paintings belonged in a gallery, and some… well, let’s just say they built character. Most importantly, staff had the opportunity to relax, laugh, and fellowship together during a well-deserved break from the hard work they do every day.

East Central Arkansas Community Correction continued the celebration of Correctional Professionals Week with an exciting “Super Tuesday” event. Our Intake team put together a fun-filled day of games and prizes, giving staff the chance to win everything from cash and TVs to purses, luggage, and appliances. Everyone left with something! Staff also enjoyed a great meal prepared by several ECC team members, including pasta, rotel, and wings, along with delicious sweet treats made by former ECC staff member Ms. London Carraway.

Throughout the day, staff spent time fellowshipping together, dancing, laughing, and competing for the big prizes. The event was a great reminder of the teamwork and dedication shared across ECC. To close out the celebration, Corporal Elizabeth Jackson received a special presentation in recognition of her willingness to always step in and support the Intake team whenever needed.
