"The Guardian’s analysis showed that police used force at 4.7 percent of left-wing protests versus 1.4 percent of right-wing protests — 511 left-wing protests and 33 right-wing. When looking at protests that didn’t involve looting or vandalism, the disparity grew: Police were about 3.5 times more likely to use force at left-wing protests than right-wing protests, 1.8 percent and 0.5 percent, respectively.

The data corroborates what many left-wing activists have noted anecdotally over the past week.

When the 2021 legislative session begins in January, House Progressives should use every ounce of power and every inch of leverage they have to win deep relief for the American working class. Even if we had all these things, we know that elected officials will never respond to our demands unless we organize our class to fight for them, not just in DSA but in the labor movement too. We are socialists, and we are organizers, so we know that there are no shortcuts to liberation.

It is a moral outrage that 88% of Democrats and 69% of all voters support Medicare for All, yet Democratic Party leadership in Congress has refused to fight for it, particularly during a pandemic that has resulted in millions losing their jobs and health insurance. With the recent release of the footage of two Brevard County Sheriff's Office, Florida (Official) deputies shooting and killing two black teenagers, Sheriff Wayne Ivey must resign. Not only were his deputies out of jurisdiction, his claim that their lives were in danger is obviously false. Resign Ivey.


There will be an action tomorrow at 4pm in Cocoa.

An incarcerated reporter in Washington state reports on how the prison has failed to provide new masks for prisoners in months. He also says that prisoners fear retaliation in reporting guards for not wearing masks.

A survey of women in prison on murder charges found that many of these women had suffered through cycles of abuse and have had their claims of abuse looked down on in the legal system. They also reported inadequate legal counsel provided by the states during their trials.

Many of the 230,000 women and girls in U.S. jails and prisons were abuse survivors before they entered the system. And at least 30 percent of those serving time on murder or manslaughter charges were protecting themselves or a loved one from physical or sexual violence.
