With the final Wednesdays in Willamette Summer Market of the season now behind us, we want to thank everyone who helped make these Wednesday evenings such a welcoming community tradition. Our appreciation goes to the market organizers, participating local businesses and vendors, musicians and performers, volunteers, community partners, and the many City of West Linn departments and employees who spent time at the market connecting with residents throughout the summer.

Most importantly, thank you to everyone who came downtown each week to shop, eat, enjoy the entertainment, visit with neighbors, ask questions, and support our local community. Your participation is what makes events like the Summer Market such a special part of West Linn.

The Wednesdays in Willamette Summer Market will return next May.

Mary S. Young Park recently provided the backdrop for a wonderful story about accessibility, community, and the simple joy of getting outdoors. The Oregonian/OregonLive joined members of Oregon Wheelchair Hiking during an August outing, where participants explored its accessible paved trails and made their way toward the Willamette River. The group has grown into a Facebook community of more than 600 people who share an interest in making Oregon's outdoor spaces more accessible and welcoming.

A group of wheelchair users meets weekly to explore Oregon parks together, supporting each other through terrain challenges and building lasting friendships on the trail.

ODOT crews are continuing demolition and construction work around the Abernethy Bridge and the I-205/OR 43 interchange this week. Residents should expect nighttime lane closures on I-205, along with overnight ramp and lane closures on OR 43 through Thursday. Crews are also continuing demolition of the former elevated OR 43 northbound on-ramp and columns beneath the I-205 southbound off-ramp.

Most demolition work will take place during the day, although some nighttime work is expected and nearby neighborhoods may hear construction noise. The West Bridge Trail remains open, but users may experience occasional short delays due to overhead construction. ODOT plans a break in major construction impacts beginning Friday afternoon for the Labor Day weekend.
For current closures and project updates, visit the I-205 Improvements Project website.

A portion of Stafford Road reopened to traffic today, September 1, as Clackamas County’s Stafford Road Improvements Project moves into its next phase.

Stafford Road between Rosemont Road and Childs Road is now open, including access through the new Childs Road roundabout. Construction activity has shifted south, with portions of Stafford and Johnson roads remaining closed to through traffic during September.

Clackamas County currently anticipates reopening all roads within the project area on October 1. Additional work will continue through December and may require intermittent flagging and traffic delays. Drivers traveling through the area should continue to watch for construction crews, changing traffic patterns and posted detours.
