🌧️ 5K WEATHER UPDATE! 🌈 September 12th Save A Life Color Run 5K at Ohio Caverns

We’re keeping an eye on the forecast and are anticipating the possibility of rain and storms tomorrow morning. At this time, we plan to move forward with the 5K as scheduled!

If severe weather moves into the area, we will pause the event for as long as necessary to keep everyone safe. Once conditions are safe, we’ll get back out there and continue the fun!

And remember… this is a COLOR RUN! Getting a little wet is just part of the experience! So don’t let a little rain keep you home. Come ready to run, walk, get colorful, and have some fun with us!

Thank you for your flexibility as we keep an eye on the weather. We’ll provide updates if anything changes.

After a su***de attempt, recovery can bring a lot of emotions, and there’s no “right” way to feel.

You may experience anger, confusion, relief, guilt, anxiety, shame, grief, or a mix of feelings that changes from day to day. You are not alone, and your su***de attempt does not define who you are.

OSPF's new Support for Su***de Attempt Survivors resource offers practical guidance for navigating recovery.

Recovery takes time, and you don’t have to navigate it alone. You can also reach out to 988 anytime, even if you’re not in an active crisis or experiencing suicidal thoughts.

A Sign of Hope in Our Parks

💙 A special THANK YOU to the United Way Community Care Day volunteers from Calvary Christian School! 💙

These dedicated volunteers spent their day installing 988 Crisis Stop Signs throughout Bellefontaine City Parks and at West Liberty Lions Park—helping bring a message of hope, connection, and support to places throughout our community.

Parks are places where people go to walk, reflect, find peace, and sometimes process difficult moments in their lives. For someone experiencing a mental health or su***de crisis, that moment of reflection can sometimes become a life-changing decision. Strategically placed crisis stop signs can serve as a powerful reminder: You are not alone. Help is available. Your life matters.

The Su***de Prevention Coalition of Logan and Champaign Counties purchased these signs through grant funding from the Public Health Fund of Ohio, making it possible to update and expand this important community resource.

This update was especially important because the crisis signs that have been in our community since 2021 featured our local crisis line, 1-800-224-0422, which was discontinued on June 30, 2026. The new signs provide the current, nationwide 988 Su***de & Crisis Lifeline information so people can connect with help when they need it most.

To the volunteers who gave their time and energy to install these signs: thank you for helping our community create places of hope and connection. Your work may reach someone at a moment when it matters most.

💙 If you or someone you know is struggling, call or text 988.

Nearly 4,400 fewer U.S. teens and young adults died by su***de than projected in the first two-and-a-half years of the 988 mental health crisis hotline, a sign the program is working even as it faces long-term funding challenges.
