⚠️ WEATHER ALERT: Severe Thunderstorm Watch in Effect Until Midnight ⚠️

The National Weather Service has issued a Severe Thunderstorm Watch for our area through 12:00 a.m. tonight.

Strong to severe thunderstorms are expected to move through the IH-35 corridor between approximately 8:30 p.m. and midnight, bringing the potential for:

• Damaging straight-line winds up to 75 mph
• Large hail
• Heavy rainfall
• Isolated tornado potential

Residents are encouraged to prepare now by securing outdoor items such as trash cans, patio furniture, umbrellas, and grills.

Please use caution if traveling tonight and remain weather aware over the next several hours.

The City of West Lake Hills will participate in a coordinated statewide test of public warning systems on Thursday, April 2, 2026, as part of a preparedness drill led by the Texas Division of Emergency Management (TDEM).

The testing window will take place between 10 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. CST to allow agencies across the state to test their systems at the same time. Residents who receive this test notification on April 2, 2026, should recognize it as part of a scheduled statewide public warning systems test, no action necessary as this is not an actual emergency.

COMMUNITY ASSISTANCE REQUEST
The West Lake Hills Police Department is seeking assistance in identifying two individuals involved in a vehicle burglary that occurred on March 13, 2026, in the 300 block of Oak Ridge.
Surveillance footage shows two individuals entering unlocked vehicles in the early morning hours (around 4:10 AM).
Suspect Description:
• Two white females
• One wearing a tan long-sleeved shirt, jeans, and black shoes
• Second suspect’s clothing is unclear
The suspects were seen entering vehicles and leaving the area on foot.

Police Activity Update

Earlier today, the West Lake Hills Police Department responded to an altercation involving two adult contract workers on Eanes ISD property.

One individual has been taken into custody, and there is no threat to public safety at this time.

School is currently out for spring break, and no students were involved in the incident.

🚧 TRAFFIC ADVISORY – FRIDAY AFTERNOON 🚧
Motorists traveling through the intersection of Bee Cave Road (RR2244) and Westlake Drive on Friday, February 13 may experience brief, intermittent traffic delays during the afternoon hours due to filming of a TXDOT public service video.
Officers will be on site conducting intermittent traffic control to ensure safety.
Please allow for extra travel time and use caution in the area.
