Gemini Cooperative

Gemini Cooperative Gemini Cooperative House is an affordable way of living for students attending Purdue University. What is Cooperative Housing?

Cooperative housing is similar to the Greek system of housing, with a few key differences.
- Cooperative housing saves money by not outsourcing daily tasks, such as cooking, cleaning, or yardwork.
- Cooperative housing is also a much smaller community, with 12 houses, rather than 70+ chapters in the greek system.
- Cooperative houses do not have national chapters. About Gemini:

There are twent

y-one rooms at Gemini, each housing members with high speed fiber-optic internet connections and satelite television with multiple movie channels. Each member does an average of two house jobs per week. The men cook all of their meals, taking turns preparing lunches and dinners. This all comes at a cost that is nearly half the price of residence halls! We have a computer room with house computers. There is also house wide wireless internet that is connected along with a house network system for file transfer, printer sharing, and game play among rooms. Set on top of the hill greeting Purdue travelers along US 231, the house boasts a great view of the levee with downtown Lafayette in the skyline. Gemini is about a six minute walk from the east side of campus and set in an ideal location for dining and shopping. The Levee Plaza sits at the foot of our hill, where a variety of stores, restaurants, and a 7 screen movie complex can be enjoyed. Two blocks to our west is the Chauncey Hill Mall.

Jacob Boocher here and it is Welcome Week for the Fall 2016 semester at Purdue University here in the ever lovely West Lafayette. That means all the freshman are being shown the ropes around campus but it also means we are welcoming 16 New Members to Gemini Cooperative House. Among these fine young gentleman is Kevin Bayley. Kevin is the son and nephew of Gemini Alumni Bill Bayley and Rich Bayley respectively. While helping Kevin move in they mentioned the lack of out reach the actives of Gemini have had in the past and expressed interest in keeping up with the house. So from now until I run out of old composites I will be adding one every week. With each added composite I ask alumni to dig through your Facebook friends and old phone numbers to track down all the Gemini men that we have lost contact with. Since it was thanks to Bill and Rich that I had this idea I found it only fitting to start with the year they were both in the house together.
