West Hollywood Community Housing Corporation - WHCHC

West Hollywood Community Housing Corporation - WHCHC Building Award Winning Affordable Housing since 1986 Our apartment communities consist of a diverse population, many of whom are elderly and/or disabled.

West Hollywood Community Housing Corporation (WHCHC) was founded in 1986 to build and rehabilitate affordable housing in West Hollywood. We have 20 apartment communities with 702 units, which provide stable high quality living environments for over 1,100 limited-income people living in the Cities of West Hollywood, Glendale and Los Angeles. Providing an affordable apartment is just the first step

in providing a safe, clean and affordable home. Many of our residents face multiple obstacles that could threaten their ability to live independently, defeating the very purpose of our existence, which is to build permanent affordable housing, allowing people to live independently as long as they are able. Our goal is to deliver a comprehensive resident services program throughout our portfolio to benefit those, many who face multiple obstacles that could threaten their ability to live independently.

MYTH #6: Housing Will Be Substandard or Poorly Maintained
FALSE: Affordable housing is a public asset that is built to a high standard to meet requirements of multiple funding sources. Unlike private, market-rate developers who flip their property for the quickest profit, nonprofit affordable housing developers maintain their property portfolios over the lifespan of the building so that residents can count on long term stability and affordability for years.
