Looking from the corner of Lake St and Ocean Ave you see all the invasive plants have been cut down but not removed. Every year the Lake gets smaller with more silt and more invasive plans. We need the.neighborhood, Parks Dept, CT DEEP and other conservation groups to help deliver a solution that will enhance this beautiful and famous place. (9/7/22)

As of July 1, 2022-- Hope for Lake St. Ct. Pond ??? The Office of Aquatic Invasive Species will be created within the Connecticut Agricultural Experiment Station and be responsible for coordinating research efforts for invasive species control and eradication, advising municipalities on the issue. The new budget includes $300,000 for three positions to support the new office.

An increasing number of damaging aquatic species are invading the waters of Connecticut. Zebra mussels and Eurasian water milfoil are most familiar to anglers but other exotic species may cause problems as well.

Looking left to right I threw 10 chunks of bread and attracted one.duck and about six. Small fish in 5 minutes.. in the past there would have been many fish attacking the bread which again shows how the health of the Lake St Ct Pond is declining fast. If you were to come and try this experiment look at the color of the water which is not clear due to the algae. The lack of depth, flow and invasive plants are slowly killing all that could live in the lake. This could be an Urban Oasis and migratory bird refuge not to mention a incredible educational resource. People could sit at the lake and just look at it
