It may be a little early for most of the roses, but a few are already beginning to bloom at Elizabeth Park.

Rosa pimpinellifolia, also known as the burnet rose, is now blooming. This long-established cream-colored rose has been growing at the Park for many years and can be found behind the John G. Martin Foundation Stage among a thicket of shrubs.

Also in bloom is Rosa hugonis, known as Father Hugo’s Rose: a beautiful yellow rose that often signals the unofficial start of rose season. Father Hugo's Rose is located in the Heritage Rose Garden.
