Hello again, beautiful people of West Hartford! 👋🐱❤️

It's me, Stormy. 😸🐾

After several days of exploring 🌳, getting a little lost 🗺️, and apparently becoming the subject of neighborhood discussion 🏘️👀, I am happy to report that I reunited myself with my mommy early this morning! 🏠❤️🐾🎉

That's right. No traps. 🚫🪤 No stakeouts. 🚫🚔 No dramatic rescue mission. 🚫🎬

I made the decision to return home entirely on my own. 😌🐾👑

As it turns out, sleeping in bushes 🌳🍃, dining on mystery cuisine 🍽️🤨, and wandering around at all hours 🌙✨ isn't nearly as enjoyable as I originally imagined. Who knew? 😹🤷‍♀️

My mommy was overjoyed to see me, and I was pretty excited to see her too. ❤️😻 There were lots of hugs 🤗, lots of pets 🐾, happy tears 🥹, and more than a few kisses 😘. It turns out somebody missed me almost as much as I missed her. 💕🐱

I'd like to thank everyone who shared my post 📲❤️, kept an eye out for me 👀🐾, and helped my mommy during this stressful week. The kindness shown by this community means more than I can put into meows. ❤️🐱🐾

As for me, I'm back where I belong—surrounded by love ❤️, enjoying unlimited snacks 🍽️🐟, cozy naps 💤🛏️, air conditioning ❄️🪟, and all the comforts I foolishly took for granted. 😹🏠

I've also been informed that my future travel privileges have been suspended indefinitely. 🚫✈️🐱 Apparently "I heard there was a fair" 🎡🎠 is not considered an acceptable travel itinerary. 🙄😹

🎉🐾❤️ CHLOE HAS FOUND HER FOREVER HOME! ❤️🐾🎉

Hi everyone, Chloe here! 🐶💕

I wanted to thank everyone who shared my post and helped me find my happily-ever-after. Because of all of you, I have found an amazing new family and a place to call home. 🏡❤️

My new family has already spoiled me with love, comfy places to nap 🛋️😴, and plenty of attention—which is great because I fully intend to supervise their every move. 👀😂

While saying goodbye was difficult for the family that loved me for the last 6 years, they can rest easy knowing I am safe, loved, and exactly where I am meant to be. 💕💔➡️❤️

Thank you to everyone who shared, cared, and helped make this possible. The world could use more people like you. 🥹🐾

In my spare time, I enjoy neighborhood watch duties from the front window 🚨, reminding people that personal space is overrated 🤗, following my humans from room to room to ensure they don't mysteriously disappear 🏃➡️🏃, and pretending I haven't already eaten when someone opens the treat jar. 🍪👀

I've also been known to chase a ball like it's my full-time job 🎾, patrol the yard for suspicious squirrel activity 🐿️🚔, and then clock out for a well-earned nap on the couch. 😴🛋️

At 6 years old, I've reached the perfect age: old enough to know better, young enough to still have plenty of fun! 🎉🐾

👑🐾❤️ ROYAL UPDATE FROM THE FORMER FEDERAL STREET EXPLORER ❤️🐾👑

Well, friends... it appears my days of conducting unauthorized neighborhood inspections on Federal Street have officially come to an end. 😼🚶‍♂️🌳

That's because I HAVE BEEN ADOPTED! 🎉🏡😻

After my exciting adventure, a wonderful family decided that I belonged with them, and I've been living the royal life ever since. ❤️👑

My new staff provides breakfast, lunch, dinner, snacks, and approximately 17 compliments a day. 🍽️😹💕

I have soft beds 🛏️, sunny windows ☀️, endless chin scratches 🐾, and not a single squirrel has asked me to do any work.

The Animal Controllers told me this was called getting adopted.

I call it being promoted. 😎👑✨

While I do occasionally miss my Federal Street adventures, my new family has made it pretty clear that my roaming days are over. Apparently "going wherever I want" is no longer part of my job description. 🚔🐱😂

Hello again, beautiful people of West Hartford! 👋😸🧡

Well... my mommy came forward and claimed me. 🥹❤️🏡

Apparently my self-guided tour of West Hartford, squirrel surveillance operations 🐿️👀, and neighborhood friendship campaign 🤝🐱 caused a little more concern than I intended. 😹

The good news is that I'm safely back home and receiving all the love, cuddles, treats, and attention a handsome orange cat could ever want. 🥰🧡🐾

The bad news? 🚨

I am now on house arrest. 🚔🐱🏠

No trial. ⚖️❌
No lawyer. 👨‍⚖️❌
No chance of parole. 😿

Honestly, all I did was spread a little love and happiness around the neighborhood. 🌞🧡 I made friends, accepted compliments, and boosted community morale. 😸✨

Unfortunately, my mommy has made it very clear that my days of independently touring West Hartford are over. Apparently, "I was networking" 📈🐱 was not considered a valid excuse.

I've recently been spotted hanging around the area of the 30 block of Lancaster Road and South Quaker Lane, and apparently my social calendar has become a topic of public discussion. 📅🐾😹

First things first: I am healthy, happy, well-fed, and thoroughly enjoying this gorgeous weather. ☀️😎🌻 Why sit inside when there are sunbeams to nap in, squirrels to supervise, birds to monitor, and neighbors to charm? 🐿️👀🐦

I've been making friends all over the neighborhood. Some people wave. 👋 Some people pet me. 🥰 Some people tell me how handsome I am. 😻 (Please continue doing that. My ego requires regular maintenance. 🧡✨)

The only problem is that every new friend keeps asking the same question:

"Who do you belong to?" 🤔🐱

I don't know why everyone is so concerned. I thought I was just networking. 📈😎

The Animal Controllers aren't worried about me—they can see I'm healthy and living my best orange-tabby life. 🐾☀️ They'd just like to know who my pawrents are before I get elected Mayor of Lancaster Road and start enforcing mandatory afternoon nap times, unlimited treats, and a squirrel-watch program. 🏛️😴🍗🐿️

For the record:

❌ I am not lost.
❌ I am not stranded.
❌ I am not seeking legal representation. ⚖️😹

✅ I am orange. 🧡
✅ I saw nice weather. ☀️
✅ I made that everyone else's problem. 😹

🐱🚨❤️ A LITTLE KITTEN, FOUR OFFICERS, AND ONE BIG RESCUE ❤️🚨🐱

Some stories remind us that even the smallest lives matter. 🥹🐾❤️

Earlier today, a tiny kitten, who has since been named Hemi, found herself alone in a very big and very dangerous world. 🌎💔🐱

The little one decided that Talcott Road and New Park Avenue would make the perfect racetrack during one of the busiest parts of the day. 🚗🚙🚚💨 With traffic moving in every direction, the odds were stacked against her.

But Hemi had something on her side that she didn't even know about...

People who cared. ❤️🐾❤️

Animal Control Supervisor Gulino, Officer Shimo, Officer Twiss, and Officer Mahan immediately sprang into action and began pursuing the frightened kitten as she darted across roadways, parking lots, and anywhere else her tiny paws could carry her. 🏃‍♂️🏃‍♂️🏃‍♂️🏃‍♂️🐱💨

The chase eventually led onto the property of a local glass company where Hemi made one final move and climbed deep into the engine compartment of a parked vehicle. 🚗🔧🐱😬

At that point, the rescue became less about speed and more about teamwork. 🤝❤️

The four officers gathered around the vehicle, assessed the situation, and started working on a plan. 🧠💡 There was very little room to work, plenty of awkward positions, and a kitten who seemed determined to stay hidden. 🙈🐱

But giving up was never an option. ❤️

After some teamwork, creativity, and persistence, the plan worked. 👏💪🎉

Before long, Hemi was safely removed from the vehicle and gently placed into caring hands. 🥹👐🐾❤️

Today, Hemi is resting comfortably at the West Hartford Animal Control Facility. 🏡🐱💕 She has food, shelter, a safe place to sleep, and something she didn't have this morning—a future. 🌟☀️❤️

One day she'll have a family of her own, a warm couch to nap on, sunny windows to watch the world from, and people who love her endlessly. 🛋️☀️🐾💕

She'll never know how many people were rooting for her today or how hard four officers worked to make sure she got a second chance. ❤️🥹🐱

A heartfelt thank you goes out to Supervisor Gulino, Officer Shimo, Officer Twiss, and Officer Mahan for refusing to give up on one tiny kitten who needed help. 🙏❤️🐾

Sometimes heroes don't wear capes. 🦸‍♂️❌

Sometimes they crawl under vehicles, squeeze into impossible spaces, and spend their afternoon chasing a tiny kitten who doesn't realize she's being saved. 🚗🐱😂❤️

Today, because of their efforts, one little life was given a second chance. 🥹🐾❤️

And that makes it a very good day. ❤️🐱✨

🚨🐾🚨 LOCAL CAT MISTAKES A/C INSTALLATION FOR AN OPEN INVITATION TO LEAVE 🚨🐾🚨

👋🐱 Hello, citizens of West Hartford!

My name is Stormy, and I am a 2-year-old cat who may have made a series of questionable decisions. 😹🤦‍♀️🐾

On 6/7/26 around 7:00 AM, I was relaxing inside my home on Davenport Road 🏠 while my mom was installing a window A/C unit 🪟❄️. While supervising her work (which she honestly wasn't doing very efficiently without my help 😼), I heard Celebrate West Hartford was going on. 🎡🎠🎶🎉

Naturally, I decided I should attend. 😎🐱

Using skills that can only be described as "cat magic" ✨🐾, I squeezed through a tiny gap next to the A/C unit and began my journey. Unfortunately, I failed to consider one small detail...

🚨 I have absolutely no idea where I'm going. 🚨 😹🤦‍♀️🗺️

I was expecting food vendors 🍔🌭🍕, entertainment 🎶🎤, and possibly a parade in my honor 👑🐱. Instead, I've found myself wandering around wondering why nobody has opened a can of tuna for me. 🍽️🐟😿

At this point, I'm pretty sure my mom has discovered that her A/C installation came with an unexpected bonus feature: one missing cat. 🪟❄️➕🐱😬

🐢🥚🚗 ATTENTION, WEST HARTFORD! SNAPPING TURTLE NESTING SEASON IS HERE! 🚗🥚🐢

If you've noticed more snapping turtles crossing roads lately, don't panic. They're not lost, they're not fleeing the law, and they're definitely not trying to extend your commute on purpose. 😅

Every spring and early summer, female snapping turtles leave the water and head out on a very important mission: finding the perfect place to lay their eggs. Unfortunately, Mother Nature didn't provide them with crosswalks, crossing guards, or a pedestrian signal. 🚸🐢

This means you may encounter what appears to be a small dinosaur casually strolling across the road with absolutely zero concern for traffic laws. 🦖🚗

If you see a turtle crossing:

✅ Slow down and give it space.
✅ If it is safe to do so, you may help it cross in the direction it was already traveling.
✅ Never move it back toward the water. She didn't come all this way just to have you send her back to the starting line. 😆
✅ Use extreme caution with snapping turtles. They can reach farther than most people think and are not interested in handshakes, selfies, or being picked up for a quick photo shoot. 📸❌

🥚 Found a turtle nest?

You may notice a freshly disturbed patch of soil in a sunny yard, field, or roadside area. Female snapping turtles can lay 20–40 eggs before carefully covering them and heading back home.

⚠️ Please leave nests and eggs alone!

Under Connecticut law and regulations, it is illegal to collect, disturb, destroy, or possess snapping turtle eggs, unless authorized by DEEP. As tempting as it may be, those are not free-range golf balls. ⛳🥚😂

Fun fact: Snapping turtles can live for decades and often return to the same nesting areas year after year. So that grumpy-looking turtle crossing the road may have been making the same trip longer than some of us have been alive. 😳🐢

And before anyone asks...

❌ No, she is not abandoned.
❌ No, she does not need a ride.
❌ No, she is not applying for residency in your flower bed.

She's simply handling turtle business. 🐢💼
