The Education Exchange is offering a pre-employment RIDE approved Teacher Assistant Training Course beginning Tuesday, April 7,2026.

The class will be via Zoom on Tuesdays evenings from 5:30 PM to 8:30 PM for 10 weeks.

There is no charge for the class.

As you may have heard, the USDA will not release November funds to pay SNAP/Food Assistance benefits due to the current federal government shutdown. This means that even more of our community members will go without adequate amounts of food indefinitely.

With that said, the Exeter-West Greenwich Senior High School Student Council will be sponsoring a non-perishable Food Donation Drive, effective immediately.

Examples of items that are most needed are pasta sauce, rice, baking mixes, cereal, canned soup, condiments, pasta, canned meats/tuna, canned pasta meals, canned vegetables, cereal, broth/stock & more.

Donation boxes have been delivered to the main entrances of the Administration Building, Lineham, Wawaloam, Metcalf, the Jr. High, the Sr. High and the reception area of the Jr/Sr High labeled with the attached flyer. We will continue to collect until further notice to help fill The Exeter Food Bank as well as looking into the possibility of working with a West Greenwich agency.

A community-wide FREE vaccination clinic held on 10/9/25 AND 11/5/25 from 4:00 PM to 6:30 PM in the Metcalf Elementary School cafeteria. Information on how to register for the clinic is

included in the attachment.

Here’s some important information about the FREE flu vaccine clinic:

Register online at schoolflu.com to schedule an appointment.

Online registration is strongly recommended to ensure enough vaccine is available for all who attend this

event.

Walk-ins will be limited on a first come, first served basis when resources are available.

Insurance information will be collected. However, people without insurance may also get vaccinated.

The vaccine is FREE with no out-of-pocket costs for anyone.

The flu is a serious, highly contagious, and sometimes deadly disease. Catching the flu usually results in missing

days of work and school. You might even have to spend time in the hospital.

Don’t take the risk — the flu

vaccine is your best protection against the flu and severe illness.

We are thrilled to share that Knight has officially completed the Therapy Dog Certification program that took place from January 2024 to January 2025.

She has received the following certifications:

AKC Star Puppy
AKC Canine Good Citizen
AKC Advanced Canine Good Citizen
AKC Urban Canine Good Citizen
AKC Trick Dog Certification
Alliance of Therapy Dogs Certification

We are incredibly proud of her and all the work/training Knight has accomplished attending training sessions multiple times a week throughout Southern Rhode Island with her fellow graduates, Cora (Hasbro Children's Hospital) and Hope (Chariho Regional School District.)
