A very special day at your Wit & Wisdom - FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 11

This Friday, we invite you to spend a very special day with us at Wit & Wisdom Senior Center. We’ll have plenty of food, fun, art, music, and fellowship, but most importantly, we’ll also take time to remember September 11, 2001, honor those we lost, and recognize the courage and sacrifice of the first responders, service members, and everyday Americans who stepped forward in the days that followe

HERE’S WHAT’S HAPPENING:

9:00 AM - 1:00 PM ~ “Art on Wheels” Art Show
Come enjoy a wonderful display of local artwork and creativity!

10:30 AM ~ BINGO
Join us for one of our favorite activities!

12:00 PM ~ Our Famous Fried Chicken Lunch
Fried chicken with all the sides, followed by a special patriotic dessert!

Approximately 1:00 PM ~ KARAOKE
Stick around after lunch and join in the fun!

Please be sure to sign our American Flag poster, brought to you by our very own Mr. Paul. The flag will serve as the centerpiece of our Art Show and as a reminder that even on one of our nation's darkest days, Americans came together with incredible strength, courage, and compassion.

We remember those who were lost.
We honor those who served.
We thank our first responders.
And we remember the unity that brought our country together.

WE WILL NEVER FORGET.

Come spend the day with us at Wit & Wisdom. Bring a friend, enjoy some great food, admire the artwork, play some Bingo, sing a song, and help us make this a meaningful day of remembrance, community, and togetherness.

We were honored to welcome Illinois State Treasurer Michael Frerichs and members of his team to the Wit & Wisdom Senior Center on Friday, August 28!

Treasurer Frerichs and his team spent time touring our facility, checking out our new walk in freezer and cooler, learning more about the programs and services we provide, visiting with our seniors and staff, and he even took a turn calling a game of BINGO!

Our center was recently blessed to receive a generous grant through the Illinois State Treasurer’s Office, and we were excited to have the opportunity to show them firsthand how hard we work each day to serve seniors throughout Franklin County. The grant we received provided much needed funds to complete our Walk in project and should help also with some new kitchen equipment.

We certainly hope they left impressed with everything happening here at Wit & Wisdom and with the dedication of our staff, volunteers, supporters, and community who make it all possible.

We are incredibly grateful for leaders who take the time to visit our communities, see the work being done at the local level, and invest in programs that make a real difference in the lives of our seniors.
