Yesterday, the Friends of the Library hosted a wonderful going-away/wedding party for our director, Marie Parks. Marie has served West Fork for 7 years with love, dedication, and kindness and has been an incredible asset for our community. West Fork wishes Marie and her beloved husband well in their next chapter! Thank you to everyone for their contributions.

Hello West Fork! My name is Mina Davis and I am the new director at the West Fork Public Library. I am very excited to step into this role, and aspire to bring the same enthusiasm and warmth to the community as my wonderful predecessor. I’m very fortunate to have gotten to know and work with Marie over the last few weeks, and am sad to see her go.

I graduated this spring with my master’s degree in library science and a Graduate Academic Certificate in Advanced Management of Libraries and Information Agencies, and I look forward to bringing my skills and knowledge to the library and helping it continue to grow and flourish.

When I’m not working, I love to read (which is almost a given in my profession), and I especially enjoy science fiction. When it’s not 200 degrees outside, I love to take a book to the park and spend some time out in nature.

I look forward to meeting you all!

Midterms are coming up! Make sure you’re registered to vote with your current address before the October 5th deadline. We have voter registration forms available at our front desk anytime, and we’re excited that we will have volunteers available to assist with registration and offer information about issues on this year’s ballot during our open hours next Tuesday, September 8th!
