Drift Smoke travels for miles and is the result of wind pushing smoke away from the actual wildfire area, often times, giving the impression of a fire nearby despite there is not one in the immediate area; This smoke can become more toxic the longer it lingers in the air.
Depending on whatโs burning โ grasslands, trees, vegetation, buildings โ wildfire smoke can containย chemical substancesย such as carbon monoxide, carbon dioxide, acid gases, sulfur dioxide, nitrogen oxides, benzene, toluene, styrene, metals and dioxins.
