25 years ago today, a national tragedy shaped the heart of history and left our nation hurting. 2,977 innocent people and children woke up that day and didnโ€™t know it was going to be their last. There is so much courage and bravery amongst those that needs to be remembered.

While we still mourn the loss of those lives, letโ€™s remember and honor those who went through the unthinkable that day. We will never forget. Where were you on that fateful day?

As we inch closer to Deer Season, deer become more active. The rut kicks off. Which means more vehicle accidents involving them.

Since September 1st, Law Enforcement have responded to multiple vehicles crashes in Brazoria County involving deer. Here are some tips to help lessen your chances of colliding with a deer,

- Stay Alert ๐Ÿšจ. Watch for deer in ditches, on shoulders, and be ready in case they do dart out in front of you, especially around dawn or dusk, when deer are most active.

- Slow down: be mindful of your speed always, however if youโ€™re in a well populated deer area, or observe some deer on the side of the road, consider reducing your speed.

- DO NOT SWERVE. If a deer runs out in front of you, firmly apply your brakes. Swerving could lead to a potentially more dangerous or deadly crash.

- Honk your horn. If you see a deer close to a road, honk to scare it away and possibly help out another driver.

Remember to be mindful of other wild animals as well such as hogs. All of the tips apply the same. Donโ€™t let a deerโ€™s good time ruin your day. Drive safely everyone! ๐ŸฆŒ

Today, the Precinct 4 Constableโ€™s Office was able to assist Precinct 1 Road and Bridge by utilizing our boat to replace and move โ€˜No Wakeโ€™ buoys on the San Bernard River and Bastrop Bayou.

No wake zones are crucial to waterways to prevent costly damage to docks and other boats, as well as stop shoreline erosion and safeguard local wildlife.

Buoys often become damaged over time or moved by tides, currents, or other watercraft.

By combining our resources, we were able to install 4 new buoys, as well as move several back into their original locations to be seen better! ๐Ÿšค

Several schools in our area will start back up this week. With that being said, letโ€™s go over a few things to remember for the 2026-2027 school year!

- ALWAYS keep an eye out for students walking or riding bicycles. ๐Ÿšถโ€โ™‚๏ธ๐Ÿšฒ

-SLOW DOWN in the school zones. Deputies will be out hot and heavy patrolling school zones, ensuring the safety of our students.โš ๏ธ

-ALWAYS stop for school buses displaying a stop sign. Weโ€™ve attached a picture below on when you should stop for a loading/unloading bus. Failure to follow this law can result in hefty fines. ๐Ÿ›‘

-Please be mindful of the heavy traffic, especially in the first few weeks. With everyone getting back into the groove of things, it may be congested. Be courteous and find alternate routes as needed.

Letโ€™s have a safe and happy school year everyone! Good luck to all of the students and teachers.๐Ÿ™‚โ€โ†”๏ธ

๐Ÿšง๐Ÿšซ FM 523 / CR 44 ROAD CLOSURE ๐Ÿšซ๐Ÿšง

As we move into the later parts of the week, we wanted to inform you of a major road closure that may affect your daily commutes in the Angleton Area. We have received this statement from TXDOT,

๐—™๐—  ๐Ÿฑ๐Ÿฎ๐Ÿฏ ๐—ฎ๐—ป๐—ฑ ๐—–๐—ฅ ๐Ÿฐ๐Ÿฐ intersection will be closed ENTIRELY in all directions beginning at ๐Ÿต:๐Ÿฌ๐Ÿฌ ๐—ฃ๐—  ๐—ผ๐—ป ๐—™๐—ฟ๐—ถ๐—ฑ๐—ฎ๐˜†, ๐—๐˜‚๐—น๐˜† ๐Ÿฏ๐Ÿญ๐˜€๐˜ ๐—ฎ๐—ป๐—ฑ ๐—ฐ๐—ผ๐—ป๐˜๐—ถ๐—ป๐˜‚๐—ถ๐—ป๐—ด ๐˜‚๐—ป๐˜๐—ถ๐—น ๐— ๐—ผ๐—ป๐—ฑ๐—ฎ๐˜†, ๐—”๐˜‚๐—ด๐˜‚๐˜€๐˜ ๐Ÿฏ๐—ฟ๐—ฑ ๐—ฎ๐˜ ๐Ÿฑ:๐Ÿฌ๐Ÿฌ ๐—”๐— .

TXDOT officials advised the road could possibly open sooner than 5:00 AM, however it is not guaranteed at this time. Officials also advised that detours will be in place. Locals will still be able to access the Dollar General in the area as well as residential driveways near by.

If this a normal roadway that you travel, please consider finding an alternate route for the weekend to avoid unnecessary traffic in the area so TXDOT can work on the intersection.

We would like to clarify that we are unsure of the work being done at the intersection. If you have any questions on this, please contact TXDOT directly.
