🇺🇸 American Leadership Academy Blythewood joined schools across South Carolina in commemorating the 25th anniversary of September 11 with a ceremony honoring the lives lost, the heroes who answered the call, and the enduring values of service, character, and courage.

In this poignant video, FDNY Fire Chief Brian Mulry, Superintendent Ellen Weaver, ALA's Kenyatta Mitchell, and 2026 South Carolina Teacher of the Year Corey Bedenbaugh reflect on who they were and where they were on the day that changed everything.

We encourage all schools across South Carolina to pause at 8:46 a.m. this morning in remembrance of September 11. 🇺🇸

As we honor those who were lost and the first responders who answered the call with extraordinary courage, Superintendent Weaver reflects on the lasting impact of that day, twenty-five years later.

Honoring the Service and Sacrifice of September 11

We encourage all South Carolina schools to observe a moment of silence at 8:46 a.m. on September 11, the moment the first plane struck the World Trade Center 25 years ago. We pause to remember those we lost, honor the courage and sacrifice of first responders, reflect on the resilience of our nation, and pass the gift of memory and gratitude for the blessing of being an American to the next generation.

The South Carolina Surge is still soaring! 🦅

We wrapped up at Alexander Elementary, where the Eagles are TOP 10 in South Carolina for most improved ELA achievement on SC READY.

A salute to the teachers who pour into their students, the support that surrounds them, and a laser-focused commitment to the success of every child.

That’s what makes Eagles fly. 🦅
