Exciting progress is happening at McAuley School! ๐Ÿ ๏ธ๐Ÿšง

If you've driven down Roosevelt Road recently, you may have noticed some big changes taking place at this historic one-room schoolhouse. After sitting vacant for more than 30 years, McAuley School is getting a much-needed restoration.

By the end of this month, new windows, doors, and siding are expected to be complete, bringing new life to this cherished community landmark. โœจ

District 33 is excited to preserve this piece of local history while creating a welcoming space that will support our families through future meetings, planning sessions, and community engagement opportunities.

We can't wait to share more updates as this transformation continues!

School may be out for summer, but the work of continuous improvement is just getting started. ๐Ÿ“Šโœจ

Today, our building and district leaders kicked off Day 1 of the Administrator Data Retreat, digging deep into student achievement, school climate, attendance, growth, and more. Together, they're analyzing data, celebrating progress, identifying opportunities, and setting ambitious goals for the year ahead.

The school year may have ended, but our commitment to students hasn't. We're already planning, learning, and preparing for what's next because our goals are bigger, our expectations are higher, and every student deserves our very best.

๐Ÿ”ฅ Safety training with a little extra heat! ๐Ÿ”ฅ

Today, our Facilities team participated in hands-on fire safety training, learning important strategies to help keep our schools and buildings safe in the event of a fire emergency.

The training included real-world fire extinguisher practice, giving staff the opportunity to safely extinguish an actual fire and build confidence in responding during an emergency. Even Superintendent Kristina Davis got a chance to put out a (literal) fire! ๐Ÿงฏ

We're grateful for opportunities like this that help ensure our staff are prepared, informed, and ready to keep our students, employees, and visitors safe.

While students head off for summer adventures, our Facilities team is just getting started! ๐Ÿงน๐Ÿซง

Behind the scenes, these hardworking team members are deep cleaning classrooms, waxing floors, tackling repairs, refreshing spaces, and preparing every school for a successful start to the new year. It takes a tremendous amount of planning, teamwork, and dedication to transform our buildings in just a few short months.

Thanks to this team, we have clean, safe, and welcoming schools for our students and staff!
