Last night, the DuPage County Board invited District 33’s Ballet Folklórico and Mariachi to be recognized during their Hispanic Heritage Month proclamation.

At each Board meeting, they recognize a local organization that has made a positive impact in our community and we had the honor to perform for them and get recognition for their impact to our community.

Over the years, our Ballet Folklórico students have proudly represented District 33 at prestigious events, including performances at the Palmer House for the Latino Administrators and Superintendents conference, the Pura Belpré Awards in Chicago, the DuPage County Fairgrounds, Fiestas Patrias and many other community and cultural events.

We are incredibly proud of our talented performers and dedicated instructors for their hard work and commitment! 💙

To kick off their new unit, Mrs. Gorgas's third graders collaborated with Ms. Silva using green screen technology! This allowed them to visualize themselves alongside the characters from the stories they explored, immersing themselves in beloved classics. This engaging method not only ignites their imagination but also enhances their comprehension of narrative elements and themes. 📚✨
