The City Clerk position has been restored following a legal review and action by the City Council.

On September 8, 2026, the City Council approved Ordinance 26-O-0021, restoring the elected City Clerk office to the City Code and declaring the office vacant. The ordinance also establishes the Clerk’s duties and creates a Deputy Clerk position.

City staff will continue performing the necessary duties of the Clerk’s office while the appointment process moves forward. This will allow meetings, records, elections and other City business to continue without interruption.
