To accommodate Mosaic Market this summer season, Main Street from Center Street to Washington Street will be closed on Thursdays from 1:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.

๐Ÿšซ No parking will be available from 11:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. on:

โ€ข Main Street from Center Street to Washington Street
โ€ข Center Street and High Street along the detour route

๐Ÿš— Turner Court Access
Turner Court will be accessible from Washington Street for residents and vendors only from 1:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. One-way access will be temporarily reversed on Turner Court during the event. Residents will continue to have access to the Turner Court parking lot.

โš ๏ธ Vehicles remaining on posted streets after the indicated closure times may be towed at the owner's expense.

๐Ÿš— A total of 213 vehicles were served, helping keep valuable materials out of landfills and supporting responsible disposal and recycling efforts across our community.

Materials collected and processed:

โ€ข 1.5 tons of electronics recycled
โ€ข 543 lbs. of clothing and accessories
โ€ข 150 lbs. of medications
โ€ข 150 lbs. of medical sharps
โ€ข 413 books
โ€ข 41 smoke detectors
โ€ข 30 pairs of eyeglasses
โ€ข 21 American flags
โ€ข 17 Bikes

๐ŸŒง๏ธ In addition, residents preordered and picked up 21 rain barrels, helping conserve water and support more sustainable landscaping practices at home.

This event would not be possible without the support of our partners and volunteers, including the Cityโ€™s Environmental Commission, SCARCE, DuPage County Board, the DuPage County Sheriffโ€™s Office, The Conservation Foundation, Groot Industries, Working Bikes, and eWorks Electronics Services Inc.

The City of West Chicago was honored to participate in DuPage Countyโ€™s America 250 Time Capsule Ceremony on June 9, hosted by Chair Deborah Conroy and the DuPage County Board.

As part of the celebration, DuPage mayors, village presidents, and countywide elected officials were invited to contribute items representing life in 2026. West Chicago's contributions highlighted important community initiatives and milestones, including materials related to the Community Park project and the historic visit of Big Boy No. 4014.

The time capsule has been sealed and will remain closed until 2051, preserving a snapshot of our community and county for future generations.

Thank you to Chair Deborah Conroy and the DuPage County Board for organizing this meaningful opportunity to celebrate our shared history and preserve it for the future.
