At last evening’s General Membership Meeting, Good Fellowship leadership recognized Ethan Hoang for his actions in responding to a cardiac arrest while off duty.
In February, while walking home from class at West Chester University of PA, Ethan received a PulsePoint alert for a nearby cardiac arrest. Without hesitation, he turned around, responded to the scene, and assisted with resuscitation efforts until responders arrived.
Ethan’s actions reflect exactly what it means to serve others. His initiative, teamwork, and commitment to patient care are a credit to the EMS profession and our community.
Ethan was presented with a Certificate of Commendation from Good Fellowship and a Responder Challenge Coin from PulsePoint in recognition of his efforts.
This call is also a powerful reminder of the role PulsePoint plays in saving lives. PulsePoint is a free, 911-connected app that alerts nearby CPR-trained citizens when a cardiac arrest occurs in a public place, providing the location of the emergency and the closest AED so care can begin before emergency crews arrive. Early CPR and defibrillation can dramatically improve survival.
Good Fellowship Ambulance - West Chester University Division continues to lead in this space. The West Chester University Division has earned Heart Safe Campus designation through the National Collegiate Emergency Medical Services Foundation (NCEMSF), recognizing a strong commitment to rapid cardiac arrest response, CPR training, AED access, and community preparedness.
