The West Chester Police Department is investigating a suspicious circumstance involving a letter that was distributed throughout the Borough. The letter below was not issued by the Mayor of West Chester.

WCPD is asking all residents to contact Det. Billie at 610-436-1337 or at [email protected] if you received this letter at your home or business.

Also anyone who may have seen a person(s) distributing this letter or have any video regarding this, we ask you also contact Det. Billie at the information above.

West Chester University College Democrats Official Statement:

May 29th, 2020

Following the outrage in relation to the murder of George Floyd and countless others taken by police brutality, the West Chester University College Democrats stand firmly in the support of black individuals, and their right to protest. Institutionalized racism continues to plague our society, and we as young democrats plan on voting and advocating for ravaged communities. It is unheard of that a sitting United States president condone the shooting of American citizens, and this organization condemns that tweet.

The instance of George Floyd is one of many in a series of senseless murders. An already handcuffed man should not have died from the injuries inflicted by an officer’s use of unnecessary force.

Regardless of party, ideology, religion, ethnicity, or gender, we must agree to put an end to the racial injustice that causes such a divide in our nation. We can do this many ways- whether it be protesting, advocating, or voting. Black lives matter.
