Meals on Wheels of Chester County would like to thank BJ's for the generous grant of $5,000 to purchase nutritious meals for our homebound seniors in need. BJ's Charitable Foundation has three pillars of focus: hunger relief, education and health and wellness. They partner with local and national non-profits to provide essential needs to families in the communities where BJ's members and team members live and work.

Recently, US Congresswoman Chrissy Houlahan joined Meals on Wheels of Chester County to deliver meals to homebound seniors and individuals with disabilities. The visit highlighted the vital role MOWCC plays in supporting the health, independence, and dignity of some of Chester County’s most vulnerable residents.

Representing Pennsylvania’s 6th Congressional District, Houlahan delivered nutritious meals and friendly check-ins to seniors. She also took time to speak with MOWCC staff to better understand the day-to-day operations and challenges facing the organization. Chrissy knows the value of our mission first-hand, as she had her own Meals on Wheels route 20 years ago at Hanscom Air Force base in Bedford, MA.

We would like to thank Rep Houlahan for supporting and caring about our homebound seniors in Chester County!

Looking for an easy, fun way to give back to the community? Spring City is looking for volunteers available at lunchtime on MONDAYS. Pick up meals at Phoenixville Hospital at 11:00 and deliver to homebound seniors. Takes about an hour. Bring a smile to a hungry, isolated senior. Call 610-430-8500 or email [email protected]. Looking for a volunteer in the West Grove area to deliver meals to homebound seniors living at Luther House. Currently, need a Wednesday volunteer to pick up 3-4 meals from Jenner's Pond at 11:30 am and deliver to a couple of residents living at Luther House.
