Last night, Miss Theuerling was honored with the Randy Robert Inspiration Award from the Southwest Ohio Art Education Association. This exciting award will help fund a special opportunity for our 6th grade students to work with clay during the second semester! 🎨🏅🤑🏺

We are so proud of Miss Theuerling for the inspiration, creativity, passion and drive she brings to our students every day.🤗👏🏻💖✨

This crew is rolling into the long weekend thanks to a new 3rd grader, Braxton, who started a trend to commute home on wheels rather than walk. 👏🏻🚲🛹

Fifth graders in Miss Theuerling’s art class are creating crystal drawings so impressive that Mrs. E’s daughter was convinced Frozen 3 must already be in theaters and she was in Arendelle!💎 ❄️👑 🎨✨

Finding your voice takes courage! Mrs. Eckhoff's class summarized and reflected on Jack's January poems in Love That Dog. We can’t wait to see how Jack will inspire them as writers as well. 💪🏻✏️ 🐾❤️

Sometimes life isn't fair... and that's exactly what makes Mrs. Slaven’s Unfair Game so much fun! With a spin of the wheel determining who has the opportunity to win mystery prize bags, students could choose, excitement, suspense, and plenty of laughter filled the room. Some prizes were bigger, some were smaller, but everyone learned an important lesson: you never know what you'll get, and that's part of the fun! 🎁🎡 ⭐

The volume was turned all the way up in (the future) Mrs. McElhiney’s classroom today! Students used their math skills to calculate the volume of figures and explain their thinking. Judging by the learning taking place, we’d say this class is full of bright minds... and a whole lot of cubic units! 🔊😄🔢

Mrs. E stopped by Ms. Scholtes’s class and quickly learned that determining whether numbers are prime or composite is serious business! Students used a variety of resources to build their case, support their arguments, and defend their answers. Let's just say if there were a courtroom for numbers, this class would win every case. 💼 ⚖️😆

With temperatures reaching extreme levels, you’d think Run Club would be the last place our All Stars wanted to be. ☀️🥵

Fortunately, the West Chester Township Fire Department came to the rescue with an epic spray-down that made Wednesday’s Run Club the place to be. 💦🏃‍♀️🏃‍♂️

A huge thank you to our local heroes - and Coach Miller - for helping our runners beat the heat! 🚒❤️

That’s our All Star SRO! Thankful to have Officer Jonah keep our students, staff and school safe both physically and emotionally! 🤩💙✨

Impacting kids from all walks of life on a daily basis is the most rewarding part of being a School Resource Officer (SRO), according to Officer Jonah Mintkenbaugh.

In his second year as a SRO for Adena Elementary and Shawnee Early Childhood, Officer Mintkenbaugh will mark eight years in law enforcement early next year. He also serves on the SWAT team and pilots drones for the police force.

He really likes it when he sees kids outside of school, and they recognize him and treat him like a family member they haven't seen for a while.

Thanks for all you do to keep our kids safe, Officer Mintkenbaugh!
