This morning, we welcomed some special visitors to the police department for donuts and a behind-the-scenes tour! These young guests were selected as winners of our coloring contest and had the opportunity to enjoy donuts with Officer Tiffany, Officer Derek, Officer Paige, Sgt. John, and of course Officer Al.

Afterward, they got to check out a police cruiser, see where we process suspects, and tour the rest of the department.

Thank you to everyone who participated in our coloring contest, and congratulations to our special visitors! We enjoyed spending the morning with you.

The Blue Envelope Program is a community partnership initiative designed to promote safe, respectful, and effective interactions between law enforcement officers and drivers on the autism spectrum during traffic stops.

The program provides participants with a distinctive blue envelope that contains copies of essential driving documents such as a driver's license, vehicle registration, proof of insurance, and emergency contact information. The envelope also includes guidance for both drivers and law enforcement officers to support clear communication and reduce potential misunderstandings during traffic-related encounters.

By increasing awareness and encouraging preparedness, the Blue Envelope Program helps officers recognize and accommodate the unique communication needs of individuals on the autism spectrum. Through education, understanding, and cooperation, we can work together to create safer and more inclusive roadways for everyone.

Blue Envelopes can be picked up in our lobby.

Deputy Chief Flynn, Sgt. Hogston, Det. Allison, Ofc. Carmack, and Ofc. Johnson had the privilege of representing the West Carrollton Police Department, alongside numerous other area agencies, in the southern Montgomery County leg of the 2026 Law Enforcement Torch Run. The Torch Run is a significant annual event where law enforcement officers and other first responders come together with Special Olympics Ohio athletes to carry the "Flame of Hope" from the four corners of the state. This flame symbolizes courage, perseverance, and the spirit of inclusion! The event culminates at the State Summer Games Opening Ceremonies at OHIO STADIUM on the campus of The Ohio State University, on Friday, May 29, where the flame is used to light the cauldron, officially declaring the games open. This event not only raises awareness but also generates critical funds to support Special Olympics Ohio's programs and athletes.

Thank you to West Carrollton Elementary for inviting us to be part of your end-of-year celebration last Friday. We had a wonderful time spending the day with everyone and showcasing some of our equipment. We especially enjoyed meeting all the students — who knows, we may have even met a few future police officers along the way!

As police week comes to a close, we would like to thank everyone for the treats that were dropped off during the week. Today's ice cream surprise was extra special because it was delivered by Sgt. Biggs' own mom, Cindy.
