🚧 Public Service Announcement – Traffic Counting in West Burlington 🚧

The Iowa Department of Transportation (IDOT) will be in West Burlington June 14–18 conducting their annual Summer Traffic Count Program.

During this time, residents may notice temporary traffic counting equipment (such as rubber hoses) placed across roadways throughout the city. These devices are safe and help IDOT gather important data used for transportation planning and future improvements.

⚠️ Please use caution when driving and avoid disturbing the equipment if possible.

We appreciate your cooperation as IDOT works to collect this important information for our community!

To help ensure a safe and enjoyable celebration, vehicle traffic will be restricted or closed in portions of West Burlington during the 4th of July Festival.

🗓 Closure Period:
July 3, 2025, at 5:00 a.m. through July 7, 2025, at 8:00 a.m.

🚧 Downtown West Burlington Closures

(From 8:00 a.m. July 3 through 8:00 a.m. July 7)

• Broadway Street – Mt. Pleasant St. to Huston St.
• Swan Street – Mt. Pleasant St. to Wheeler St.
• Glasgow Street – Leffler St. to Swan St.
• Wheeler Street – Leffler St. to Swan St.
• Leffler Street – Mt. Pleasant St. to Glasgow St.
• The 100 and 200 blocks of North/South alleys between Swan St. and Leffler St.

🚲 Bike Race Route

(Friday, July 4 | 8:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m.)

• Autumn Ln. from Huston St. to Van Weiss St.
• Van Weiss St. from Autumn Ln. to Melville St.
• Melville St. from Van Weiss St. to Huston St.
• Huston St. from Melville St. to Autumn Ln.

(Friday, July 4 | 3:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m.)

• No parking or vehicle traffic on Huston Street from West Burlington Avenue to Autumn Lane.

Please plan ahead and use alternate routes during these times. We appreciate your patience and cooperation as we celebrate Independence Day together!

Garbage pickup originally scheduled for Mondays will be shifted to Tuesday's route.
