Yesterday’s Future Soldier Training was a tough one!!
We kicked things off with Drill & Ceremony — learning facing movements, marching in step, and finally looking like a unit instead of a bunch of chickens flocking 😂 From “About Face” to staying locked in formation, these Future Soldiers will be marching like pros in no time!
After that, we turned up the heat and crushed the Half Murph in pairs 💪
That’s:
✅ 1 mile run
✅ 100 Pull ups
✅ 200 Push ups
✅ 300 Squats
✅ Another 1 mile run
Sweat was pouring, partners were pushing each other, and the energy was unmatched!

🚨 FUTURE SOLDIER SUCCESS STORY 🚨

Today we proudly shipped out PFC Erin Fullerton as a 68W Combat Medic! 🇺🇸🫡

Erin came into the Future Soldier Program determined to transform herself. Through consistent hard work, weekly PT sessions, ruck marches, and gym grind, she completely changed her life — dropping over 20 pounds, improving her body composition by 9%, and stepping into Basic Training in the best shape of her life.

Not only did she crush her own fitness journey, but she stepped up as a Future Soldier Guide, leading and mentoring others in training long before she ever shipped. That’s the kind of leader the Army needs!

Huge congratulations PFC Fullerton! We are incredibly proud of how far you’ve come.

Shoutout to her recruiter SSG Connelly for guiding her every step of the way, and to the entire West Branch team for their outstanding support and mentorship.

🚨 FUTURE SOLDIER ALERT 🚨

Ethan Thorne, 21, from West Branch, MI just took the Oath of Enlistment as a 13U Artillery Soldier!

Recruited by SSG Connelly and trained through the West Branch Future Soldier Program, Ethan showed up consistently, performed at an elite level, and today proudly held the Department of the Army seal while raising his right hand to serve.

Huge congrats Ethan! Proud of you, Soldier. Big thanks to SSG Connelly for another outstanding enlistment.

Future Soldier April Adventure — complete! 💪 On April 25th, our 6 motivated Future Soldiers from northern Michigan rucked 6 miles along the beach and trails, soaked in the views near the Mackinac Bridge, and built even stronger bonds as a team.

Led by SFC Jensen and SSG Connelly, this was more than just ruck training — it was real leadership development, mental toughness, and unforgettable memories.

This is what the West Branch Future Soldier Program is all about: pushing your limits, growing together, and preparing for success in the U.S. Army. Every Wednesday 4:30–6pm we train hard, learn Army skills, and become part of something bigger.

Proof that one recruiter can change everything! 🦅 SSG Shannon Connelly of the West Branch Army Recruiting Station just earned this incredible eagle trophy for enlisting THREE future Soldiers on the same day in January FY2026. That’s impact—three young men and women stepping up to serve our nation because of her dedication and guidance.

The West Branch Army Recruiting Station Future Soldiers hit the AFT hard this past Wednesday — from deadlifts and pushups to planks and a 2-mile run.
