Dear Valued Members, Volunteers, and Community Supporters:

I am writing to request your generous support for an important COVID19 relief initiative the Great Lakes Region is starting to provide essential supplies to those who have been adversely impacted by this global health crisis and economic downturn. This humanitarian aid project will deliver swift, direct assistance to affected individuals in two powerful ways.

FOOD DRIVE--First, we are raising funds for Yad Ezra which will distribute food to children, seniors and families who lack the necessary resources to sustain themselves during the crisis. Every $1.00 donated to the Food Drive will be matched dollar for dollar by the Great Lakes Region up to $5,000.

PPE Drive--Secondly, we are collecting money to procure and donate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) to at-risk families and vulnerable communities including SJL housing, nursing homes, and other local facilities to limit the spread of COVID 19. Great Lakes Region will match dollar for dollar all PPE donations up to $5,000.

Because of the crisis, we have had to cancel all in-person community service events and programs including Bingo at the Veterans Hospital and the annual Stephen B. Zorn Golf Outing which produces funds for scholarships and youth activities until further notice. The Great Lakes Region is instead focusing all of its current efforts on COVID 19 relief assistance.

We have faithfully served the Great Lakes area since 1857, providing emergency relief, helping the less fortunate, and being a driving force for good. Now, more than ever, we call on you to provide meaningful and life-saving supplies to those in need during this pandemic.
