At United Way of Washington County, we believe in a uniting force for good and the power of community. We are so proud when our team members live out that belief beyond the workplace. Congratulations to Jen on joining Hartford Rotary Club as a new member! 🎉We know you will fulfill Rotary's commitment to service above self!

👏 Hartford Rotary welcomes our newest member, Jen Novotny!

Jen recently joined United Way of Washington County as the Operations & Marketing Manager. She first became involved with United Way in 2016 as a volunteer on the marketing committee and has continued supporting the organization through her marketing contract role since 2020. We’re excited to see her now serving officially on staff and bringing that same passion for community service to Hartford Rotary.

Jen and her husband grew up in the Hartford and Slinger area and are raising their three daughters here in the community they love. She appreciates all that Washington County has to offer — from Pike Lake State Park and the Ice Age Trail to the Museum of Wisconsin Art and the Schauer Arts Center — along with the excellent schools, public resources, and beautiful surroundings that make this area so special.

Welcome to Rotary, Jen! We appreciate your passion and dedication to serving others and look forward to making a positive impact together through Service Above Self.

Happy Pride Month! Our community is strongest when everyone in it has what they need to thrive.

💚 We're sharing our last tip for Mental Health Awareness Month a little early — 𝐋𝐢𝐦𝐢𝐭 𝐒𝐜𝐫𝐞𝐞𝐧 𝐓𝐢𝐦𝐞 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐏𝐫𝐢𝐨𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐳𝐞 𝐒𝐥𝐞𝐞𝐩.

As we pause for Memorial Day weekend to honor and recognize the brave men and women who gave the ultimate sacrifice for our country, we hope you're also able to prioritize your mental health by limiting screen time and prioritizing sleep.

Katelyn explains how screen time and poor sleep combine to negatively affect your mental health.

Spoiler: overstimulation of screens raises cortisol (your stress hormone) and disrupts sleep, focus, and self-esteem + poor sleep worsens anxiety, depression, and emotional regulation.

So put the phones down, rest, recharge and be fully present this weekend.

We hope these tips help improve your mental health, during the month of May and every month!

Happy Memorial Day Weekend! ❤️🤍💙

Mental health continues to be one of the greatest needs in our community. Through United Way of Washington County's Mental Health Initiative, we're focused on expanding support and services for young people. Learn more: https://www.unitedwayofwashingtoncounty.org/mental-health-initiative
