School is back in session!!

Here is another example of unsafe driving. We received a complaint about a school bus violation on Friday morning. A concerned citizen captured compelling video footage of a driver failing to stop for a school bus. The lights were on and both the stop arm and crossing bar were extended.

Captain Cashin was able to locate the driver and made phone contact. The driver admitted to the violation. A citation was issued.

We want every one to have a safe, happy and healthy new school year!

Ridiculous Driving. Thanks to our friends at the Winnebago County, Wisconsin Sheriff’s Office for keeping our roads safe!!

Last night around 9pm one of our Deputies was monitoring traffic on I-41 S near Nee-Vin Rd and observed this Mustang speeding; yep, that says 143 MPH — more than double the posted 70 mph speed limit for the interstate.

Have you ever wondered what citations for reckless driving and speeding would total in this circumstance? It’s $1,515.00.

Dangerous. Dumb. Just plain ridiculous. Period.

****SCAM****

We just wanted to make everyone aware of a new scam that's been circulating.

Captain Cashin received the attached screen-shot as a text message. The scammers are pretending to be with the WI DMV, claiming that the Captain had an outstanding traffic ticket under a bogus administrative code.

This is nothing but a phishing scam. As you read this bogus text, put your boots on because it gets deep. We encourage you to never answer text messages like this or click on the link. For safety and security we blurred the link that was provided by the scammers.

Be aware and stay alert, if it seems like a scam it probably is!!

***SLOW NO WAKE on WALLACE LAKE***

Due to the unprecedented rain fall, the Town of Trenton has issued an Emergency Declaration order for SLOW NO WAKE on Wallace Lake.

This order will be until further notice. The water levels on the lake are very high, and this temporary declaration is necessary to preserve the integrity of the lake, minimize property damage on the shorelines and ensure safety for all.

We will continue to monitor water levels and remove the restriction ASAP!!!

We appreciate your cooperation and commitment to making Trenton the bight community that it is.

📱📱Stay off the Phone📱📱

This morning, Captain Cashin observed a motorist traveling east on Highway 33 near the golf course. The driver was clearly looking down and not watching the road. The driver then swerved, correcting himself and continuing on.

Captain Cashin caught up with the vehicle just east of Newburg and watched as the driver drove over the double yellow centerline into oncoming traffic lanes. When he was stopped, the driver admitted he was texting on his phone and not paying attention to the road. The motorist was upset with the Captain for citations being issued, stating that he was halfway through his points on his license. The driver was encouraged to come to court.

The Trenton Police Department encourages everyone to put devices down when driving and focus on the road. SAFETY FIRST!!
