📶💔 Internet Update: The Saga Continues 💔📶

Welp.

We had a Comcast technician scheduled to arrive today at 2:00 PM.

Instead, they arrived in the wee hours of the morning, marked the appointment as missed, and the issue as resolved.

Never fear—we then spent a perfectly reasonable amount of time on the phone with Comcast to reschedule.

Our new appointment is… Saturday. 😒

Public Wi-Fi, internet access, and occasionally our phone service may continue to be unreliable until the issue is resolved. We still have workarounds for printing, and we’ll keep doing everything we can to help folks while we wait.

Hi Friends!
Just a reminder- the library will be closed Friday, June 19th, for the holiday.

We'll be open our regular hours today (Thursday 9-2pm), closed Friday, then back to our regular schedule Saturday 9-2pm, closed Sunday.

What holiday? Juneteenth (June 19th) commemorates the end of slavery in the United States and is a day to recognize and celebrate freedom, resilience, and Black history. Thanks to the incredible support of our community, we’ve reached 111 donations in our J. Palino Summer of Giving Campaign.

That means we’re just 14 donations away from our first bracelet giveaway!

When we reach 125 donations, one supporter will be selected to receive an original J. Palino bracelet as a gift of our gratitude. Four bracelets will be given away throughout the campaign.

💜 Hydrangea Festival Posters Have Arrived! 💜

This year's beautiful Cape Cod Hydrangea Festival poster is now available for purchase at Whelden Memorial Library.

Designed by local artist Anne Andersen, the poster captures the vibrant colors and charm of a Cape Cod garden in full bloom and makes a wonderful keepsake for festival-goers, gardeners, and art lovers alike.

Posters are $10 each and can be purchased with cash or check at the circulation desk while supplies last.

📶⚠️ Library Internet Update ⚠️📶

Sometimes it feels like Comcast's internet service gets more paid time off than the average library worker.

Our public internet and Wi-Fi have been intermittently unavailable since Saturday, and we're continuing to work with Comcast to get the issue resolved. We know it's frustrating, and we're sorry for the inconvenience.

We do have workarounds available for printing, but internet access on our public computers may be limited or unavailable at times.

Thank you for your patience, understanding, and good humor while we navigate this unexpected adventure in modern technology. We'll share updates as soon as we have them.

In the meantime, if anyone knows the secret password to fix the internet, we're all ears. 😉📶
