📢 Important Library Hours & Closure Announcement!

The library will be closing early and observing adjusted holiday hours over the Labor Day weekend.

Please review the schedule below for details on closures, return dropboxes, and due dates:
Saturday, September 5: Closing early at 1:00 PM for parking lot repairs.
Sunday, September 6: Closed.
Monday, September 7: Closed in observance of Labor Day.
Tuesday, September 8: Reopening for normal operating hours at 10:00 AM.

Important Reminders:

Book Drop: The outside return dropbox will be unavailable for return items during this entire period (Saturday afternoon through Monday). Please hold onto your returns until we reopen.

Late Fees: Any items due between Saturday, September 5 and Monday, September 7 will not accrue late fees.

Thank you for your understanding while we make these needed repairs! Enjoy your Labor Day weekend! 📚✨

Our community has been putting sustainability into action!♻

So far this year, we’ve collected an incredible 724 POUNDS of plastic through our NexTrex recycling program! AND we’ve also collected over 300 balloons for Balloon Mission!

Instead of heading to the trash, these materials are getting a second chance while helping keep waste out of our environment.

Have plastic or used balloons at home? Bring them along on your next library visit and drop them in our collection bins. Every bag, every balloon, and every little effort counts.

📚✨ Happy Back-to-School Season! 🎒✏️A HUGE thank you to our incredible community! Thanks to your amazing generosity, we collected over 4 GIANT bags full of essential school supplies for the Scott Martella "Supply Our Students" Drive through the Long Island Coalition for the Homeless.

We are so proud of our West Babylon neighbors for stepping up to make a real difference for local students as they start the new school year. Wishing all of our students, teachers, and families a safe, happy, and successful school year ahead! 🍎

All aboard for an autumn getaway! 🚂🍁 Join us for our Essex Steam Train & Riverboat Trip on Thursday, October 8.

Experience the beauty of the season on a narrated journey aboard the historic Essex Steam Train and Becky Thatcher Riverboat through the Connecticut River Valley. The trip includes a visit to the Florence Griswold Museum for the charming Wee Faerie Village and a delicious three-course lunch at the historic Griswold Inn!

Trip Details:

Date: Thursday, October 8

Registration Opens: Wednesday, September 2 (In Person or Online)

Cost: $130 per person (Adults Only)

Includes: Transportation, Museum & Village Admission, and Three-Course Lunch

Patrons may bring one guest! Non-residents may register beginning Wednesday, September 9.
