Sandcastle Contest Robert Moses State Park!
We had a great time playing in the sand at RM during our August Sandcastle Contest. Congrats to our winners! Tomorrow 8/27 is the 2026 Season Finale at Jones Beach Field 6...registration opens at 930am. Bring your shovels and beach pails, we'll provide the sand and the water. All entrants receive a free gelato!

Summer Run '26...Finale!

Weather makes the news again in our Summer Run 2026 saga! Jones Beach was a PITA but we got through it! The seacoast atmosphere turned hot and soupy before the clouds and downpour appeared. Mother Nature wiped the skies clean before our delayed start. She also caused us to pare our traditional 5 miler finale to a 5K. Over 1500 finishers enjoyed the post run banquet and comfort of the JB Theater plaza, A tremendous wrap up to the '26 season! Thanks for running! See y'all in January 2027!

Summer Run 2026 Heckscher State Park II
The weather certainly didn't dissuade many runners! After a deluge flooded many areas of Long Island the rain abated mid-afternoon. Clouds broke up and the sun emerged to force heat into a sodden atmosphere. Yup high humidity! A breeze emerged and made it comfortable! I heard no complaints on the course. Enjoy the pics. See you next week for the 2026 season finale...Jones Beach!

Summer Run Series Hempstead Lake
It looked as if rain was expected. It didn't happen. It looked like a breeze would cool things a bit for the race. It didn't happen. What did transpire was over 1200 runners crossed the finish line at Hempstead Lake State Park happy it was done! A fast paced trot around one of the biggest lakes on Long Island! Congrats...you did it! Onward to Heckscher State Park for next Monday night's Summer run...see you there!

Summer Run Series Robert Moses State Park Beach Run...
We were the lucky recipients of another evening of perfect running weather! A mile on the beach is tough enough but when the the ambiance cooperates it rates as the best! Over 1100 finishers agree! Enjoy the pics. We'll see you next week at Hempstead Lake State Park for a 5k by the lake.
