6th Annual Su***de Research Symposium - Mark your calendar for March 24-26, 2027, for the 6th Annual Su***de Research Symposium.

This event is co-hosted with the American Foundation for Su***de Prevention and was developed to disseminate su***de research, a much-needed initiative for su***de prevention. Over 3000 people attended the 2026 event- help us make this year even bigger!

This event is FREE to attend and will be held virtually on a state-of-the-art online platform that will allow attendees to attend sessions, view abstracts and posters, and connect with researchers from all over the world.

Submissions later this month, with the deadline to submit being October 15, 2026. Registration will also open later this month.

Gold Star Mothers and Families Day is a solemn reminder of the ultimate cost of freedom. It is a day dedicated to honoring the mothers and families who have lost a son or daughter in service to the United States Armed Forces.
The powerful tradition of the Gold Star dates back to World War I. Families and businesses originally hung service flags featuring a blue star for every loved one on active duty. When a service member made the ultimate sacrifice, a gold star was superimposed over the blue, honoring their bravery and forever marking the family's profound loss.
Today and every day, we hold Gold Star Mothers and Families in our hearts, ensuring their loved ones' legacy is never forgotten.

Vocational Rehabilitation Service is facilitating a Milwaukee County Transit System Reduced Fare Card Workshop, Wednesday, Sept. 23, 2026, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., in Room 110 of Building 7.

All Veterans must bring valid state identification, driver's license, passport or alien registration card.

Veterans under age 65 must show proof of disability with one of the following:

Social Security letter indicating disability.
Copy of Medicare card.
Veteran's Disability Letter.
Completed reduced fare application by a treating physician or licensed health care provider (with a Wisconsin medical license).
Eligible Veterans will receive a card when they leave Building 7.
