Mrs. Markwardt’s 3rd grade class has been learning about White Cane Day, which is coming up on October 15th!

Today, students welcomed Mrs. Holtz, a teacher in our school district who works with students who are blind or visually impaired. She gave a wonderful presentation about how white canes help people stay safe, navigate their surroundings, and be independent in their communities.

Students also created posters to help spread awareness about White Cane Day. During Innovation Class, Mr. Hartmann taught students how to use Canva to design and create their posters. Some students chose to create their posters digitally using Canva, while others chose to create their posters by hand on paper. Students proudly turned in their finished posters to Mrs. Holtz, and they will soon be displayed at businesses throughout West Allis!

Our Eagles were all smiles today when they were surprised with a sweet ice cream treat for being at school! 💙 We love celebrating our students and their commitment to showing up, learning, and growing!

What an incredible first week at Irving! Our Eagle flock is back together, and we couldn’t be more excited about the year ahead! 💙

🌈🏃‍♂️ What a colorful day at Irving! Our students had an absolute blast at this year's Color Run! The excitement kicked off with a friendly (and competitive!) teacher race, setting the tone for a fun-filled event. 🦅 Ernie the Eagle soared to victory and claimed the win!

A huge thank you to our incredible volunteers and the Irving PTA for making this event so special. Your time, energy, and support helped create unforgettable memories for our students. 💙💛
