Get ready for an unforgettable day trip! Abilities Travel Club and Ability Adventures are teaming up for the Tour, Tackle, & Taste Trip on Friday, April 16, 2027.

Here is what we have planned for this action-packed day:

Lambeau Field Legendary Hall of Fame Tour: Walk the player tunnel, explore iconic stadium areas, and dive into Green Bay football history.

Packers Pro Shop: Time to shop for gear at the massive pro shop.

Golden Basket Restaurant: Enjoy a delicious home-style lunch featuring classic comfort foods, salads, and diner favorites.

Hefner’s Frozen Custard: Round out the trip in Cedarburg with rich, handcrafted Wisconsin frozen custard and sundaes.

Cost: $95 per participant

Goerkes Corners Park & Ride: Departs at 7:07 am | Returns at 5:59 pm

Good Hope Park & Ride: Departs at 7:45 am | Returns at 5:17 pm

**ACTION ALERT**

Since 1957, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has done an annual health survey that includes counting how many people have disabilities.

CDC wants to remove many disability-related questions from the survey, including questions that were designed to help make sure people with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities are counted.

Advocates say the revisions would leave out a question about whether a person’s difficulties with cognition, communication, mobility or other issues originated before the age of 22 as well as questions about challenges learning or completing everyday tasks, all of which were specifically designed to improve identification of people with developmental disabilities." “The bottom line: The proposed revisions will make it harder to identify in the data people with disabilities — especially people with intellectual and developmental disabilities,” says Lindsay DuBois, a research associate at the nonprofit Human Services Research Institute.

Data collected through the National Health Interview Survey influences federal funding decisions for State Councils on Developmental Disabilities and other programs and allows researchers to track health trends among people with disabilities.

Many federal formulas and grant programs rely on federally collected data to estimate how many people with disabilities live in the state and calculate how much money the state should get for programs and groups that support people with disabilities who live there.

Undercounting people with disabilities can result in fewer federal dollars being returned to schools, state agencies and programs, and local communities.

The proposed changes to the survey would begin in 2028 and could affect the information collected about people with disabilities for the next 10 years.

** ACTION STEPS**

1. Submit public comments on the CDC proposal by Oct 20th. You can talk about questions you think should not be removed or should be added to make sure people with I/DD are counted. (Tips to help make your comments)
2. Advocates can make sure their U.S. House member and U.S. Senators know why making sure people with I/DD are accurately counted is important.

As we get closer to the November 3rd election, you may receive mail from organizations about voter registration or your absentee ballot. The Wisconsin Elections Commission wants voters to know that the best place to get information about voter registration and absentee voting are their local clerks and the state’s official MyVote.wi.gov website, not mailings from third parties, political parties or other voter advocacy groups. You can also look for the official election mail logo to help you know it is from your clerk or the Wisconsin Elections Commission.
